It sucks, I haven't had much time to follow much of any sports the past couple years, but in reading this thread about the VGK, and the expansion draft where they pretty much got their pick of unprotected players to make their new team, it reminds me of "Moneyball" and the A's and how a bunch of average players on paper, together can win.

Well analytics wise, VGK was pretty much expected to suck hard prior to the season. But to be fair, NHL analytics is pretty hit and miss right now. I mean, the Flames was a winner in the analytics department haha.

Some of them are now obviously not average, the other teams protected assets which they thought would benefit their organizations best - I don't think anyone would consider Fleury average, hell he would certainly look great on the Flames roster.

Someone explain this to me.... the Vegas players are skating at 100% literally all the time, how does their coaching staff motivate them or are they self motivated to care that much? And if the answer was so easy why are other teams not playing like that? Its really odd just how fast they play and how hard their players are skating every second of their shifts.

You see them play and wonder why other teams can't play a similar style game of skating hard and pressuring the other team all the time. They have some skilled players but they also have a bunch of waiver wire plugs.

It weird watching their games.... they make it look so easy haha.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I would love to see drug tests.
