    I can confirm Sean Banerjee signed off on some of the docs. Talk about fucked up. The guy doing it must be a beyonder at some point. Either that or Sean Banerjee actually moved to Edmonton.
    Confirmed!!!

    How is this real.

    When I first figured out it was this hyundai dealer, I just did a google search for "sean banerjee dealership" and river city Hyundai popped up with his name in the description linking to the staff page of the website. When I clicked on it, none of the staff were named Sean Banerjee thought. Doing the search again, and the description is no longer in the google search...

    might just be another Banerjee that likes to scam?

    Let me set the record straight, no shady or illegal business came from Sean bannerjee in this issue.

    It's just bizarre his name came up through this...

    What are the odds. There’s actually a Sean Banerjee in Edmonton working at Hyundai and previously at a Ford dealership. Mind blown.

    I honestly assumed someone bringing up Bannerjee was a joke hahaha.

    Amazing thread, been a while.

    If the boyfriend, sales person and (possibly) the finance manager were involved, it could also be conspiracy to commit fraud. I think the key facts are that:
    1) Sikid's sister didn't even pick the car up in person, ignoring all the usual safeguards to ensure that the right person actually gets the car;
    2) There was no verification of documents to ensure that the car could be safely and legally put on the streets;
    3) The almost instantaneous "sale" of the car to the boyfriend using a forged bill of sale.

    1 and 2 by themselves could simply be negligence. The combination of any or all 3 suggests it was planned and that someone in the dealership was complicit.
    I was only replying to the comment above mine about how it would have to be $18k in fees. My suggestion was only that as far as I know, unless it is completely unreasonable, then there is nothing protecting anyone from either over-paying or under-paying for something. Now if the sales guy could argue that this one was worth the $34,000 for some reason. Could be difficult to argue of course. Just playing devils advocate.

    Everything you mention about how the actual transaction went down is not what I was commenting on, but is totally a sham.

    What is the US Sean Banerjee never existed and was just a construct of this one? A completely fabricated ghost, running "businesses" from a 2 bedroom apartment in Millwoods the whole time!

    I would double-down and expose the dealership as well. A shady practice like this is a direct representation of how they conduct business.

    Think about it. It is not possible that the management did not know or at least audited/reviewed this particular transaction with red flags ($10K additional dealer mark up).

    I believe the dealership took a chance (who knows how many times they've done this) and got caught.

    If someone in this story had a hand like a claw, i'd vote this thread of the century!

    I'm honestly sick of telling the story. I've had so many phone calls, and questions, and more questions, and then questions about the previous questions they just asked.

    Fun times, I deserve at least a large dd from timmies!

    These were my initial thought, but this wasn't the case at all.

    Couldn't disagree more. The dealership made it right, you don't slap the face of the person who served you.

    Jump on this deal quick, before the government enables the employee discount benefits taxation.

    I totally agree there had to have been a couple higher ups to have been in on this, for sure the sales guy, finance and at least a manager. These guys know what the cars are worth so to make a sale with $10k on top has to raise some flags, id suspect youd have to take every deal to the manager for approval even if youre selling for way above list. And when it comes time to pick up youve got to sit down with the finance guy to sign docs, show insurance and have a black check no?

    To say the dealer is shady because the staff is shady is a bit much now though, theres way more to this than we know and for all we know the big bosses may have found out what happened and are dealing with it and thats why the car was taken back so quick. Or the dealer realized they got caught and want to cover up as fast as possible lol Such a fucked up story
