So... lets run some numbers.
Currently, I'm just on RRO for both electricity and gas in rural Alberta. Sweet.
Current Elec Charge - $3.287/KW
Current Gas Charge - $1.675/gj
Now I was doing some comparisons on the energyrates.ca site:
Spot Power - 1c + Pool Price
WTF is pool price? I know what it is, but how to figure out what it costs. Ok, simple math. Currently 30 day average has ran $22.75/GW for the past forever with some crazy hourly price spikes happening a couple of times. So the actual price is $2.28/KW. Definitely better. Then gas is apparently more expensive going spot price + through fee? So scratch that.
So the best pricing I can get is
Electricity - $2.28/Kw
Gas - $1.675/Gj
Pretty damn cheap. But is it even worth switching? How do I compare the riders and all that crap (I've been told its the same charges for everyone)?
Is it even worth switching?
