Is this anyone else's secondary plan, in the event the MK8 Golf R, doesn't come with a manual?

A 70,000 dollar golf r equivalent? Seems like a bad deal

This doesn’t exactly solve the lack of manual problem.

Not sure how you can directly compare these two cars tbh.

$80K + tax out the door for CLA45 with every option checked.

May have to wait for A35 showing up here before there is a direct comparison. But given A250 can already be configure over $50K, I really doubt any MB will be a value play like the R.

I'll clarify in that, if i don't have a German AWD Manual option available to me any longer, then I'm open to any AWD hatch.

    Equivalent? Bizarre take.

Are the AMG performance seats worth getting? I was trying to match you and that's the biggest jumper I had + AMG packages.

    ARTICO is pleather, right?

I'll bet most budget ballers leave with just the Premium Pack and Aero + Night Package at $51.5K. I can't see many people optioning out in full to $69k, those people would be looking for a 45S.

The seats are worth it if money is no object haha. It's the leather requirement that kills the price. If I was shopping for a 35, I wouldn't be spending $4300 on those seats. Save that money for the 45.

At some point they'll drop the leather requirement, the ARTICO + DINAMICA (pleather + alcantara) AMG seats are to die for. And it's $2k cheaper! They eventually did that last gen 45's after I got 'em of course.

I don't know how they wear but ARTICO Pleather and Leather looks/feels almost the same. Nappa leather on real AMG tho are very nice.

I'm getting soft and find the AMG performance seat to be a bit rough on a daily.

Perf seats are the best part of the interior of an AMG. Make every drive feel special.

ARTICO wears way better. I would choose it over leather 10x outta 10.

Yea, but if you were on a budget, would you spend that money on seats on a 35 or use that money towards a 45 without seats? I know I would go performance first then seats.

I thought the A35 had a new 8 speed DCT, is that not the case?

Also is there no heated wheel option and Burmester Audio on the A35 or did I miss it? They are standalone options on the A250.

It's too bad that you have to add the nav package to get Intelligent Drive - waste of $1000. $56,900 how I would want it. Not bad actually considering the A250 optioned similarly is almost $50K.

I would find it very hard to compromise, but I have no interest in the 35 anyway

I like the car but $70k is getting a little up there for a 4-cylinder equipped compact.

You know what I like about this... The exhaust tips are actually real lol.

But I am kinda confused. Some photos show quad tips, some just show dual. Wonder what it actually is.
