Had a co-worker get into a messed up situation involving a hit and run - this guy lacks a bit in the life skills department so I figured I would ask to experts to make sure he isnt getting boned from the insurance company.
Situation -
Driving down Macleod Trail, he was clipped by another vehicle who spun out - which pushed him across 3 lanes of traffic and over the median into oncoming traffic, he was then hit by a car in the oncoming lane.
Police have deemed him not at fault, have dash cam footage of the incident - how ever, the car that hit him took off and didnt stick around - police cant make out a plate via dash cam footage - so it is now deemed a hit and run.
Insurance company has written off his car ( He has full coverage ) but they are telling him he has to pay his deductible AND the person who hit him in the oncoming lanes deductible - does this make sense? dont you pay for insurance for situations like this? they should be covering the other persons deductible you would think?
