Went to Bridgeland Market yesterday as they serve MBM by the scoop. 5 flavors. No line.

Not a big fan of MBM though. Almost too creamy. Much prefer Village if I have to choose.
That's interesting because MBM uses milk at the primary ingredient, Village uses heavy cream and has an entire section of their website dedicated to how "rich, dense and creamy" it is haha. Most MBM flavors are only 145cal for 125ml serving which is weirdly low, not far above some of the ultra-low calorie fake ice cream brands like Halo Top.

That being said my all time favorite flavors are still from Village

To me, MBM tastes most closely to liquid nitrogen ice cream. I think they freeze it at super low temps.

Calories can depend a lot on overrun.

125ml is also not a lot. It's half a cup. A cup of 1% milk is only 110 calories. So they're adding a lot of sugar - 290 cals - 160 cals (for homo milk) = 130 cals of yum yum sugar = 32 grams of sugar, which is about 8 teaspoons, or about the same in a 355ml can of Coke.

Cream actually blunts a lot of a flavours (esp. chocolate).

They are both definitely very sugary. MBM has I think 20-25g per serving. Their cookie dough for example is 145 cal, 20g sugar, 5g fat (1g saturated, 0 trans), 6mg cholesterol per 125ml serving.

Mostly what I am comparing it to is the mass produced pints like Haagen Dazs and Ben & Jerrys. HD Chocolate Peanut butter, for example, is 380 cal, 26g fat (11g saturated, 0.4 trans), 80mg cholesterol and 26g of sugar for the same serving. I suspect the Village nutritional info is much closer to Haagen Dazs than MBM because of the heavy cream base.

Neither are healthy by any means, but I was surprised how much better MBM was than some of the others based around heavy cream, particularly the store bought varieties.

Well yeah, a cup of heavy cream is over 800 calories.

The fact that it *can* be lined up was never disputed. We all know that it can be busy at times. Rocket and some others called BS on the fact that sometimes there is no lineup, even at times one might think there would be a lineup. Several proof photos showed up and unsurprisingly all those people disappeared.

Also, a pint is $2 more than a scoop and you get way more ice cream. You don't have to stand in line for pints, you just walk right in and go to the till. No line? Get a scoop, sundae, whatever. Line? Consider just getting a pint to share or take home. Same deal at Village. Either way you will never wait in a lineup if that works for you.

The Hillhurst location promised double the flavors, but looking at pictures of the menu it has maybe 2 more flavors? No point going there just yet IMO.

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

Not according to some people here Apparently there are huge lineups in the middle of winter too. I'd like to see a picture of MBM lined up to that stop sign when it's -25C, dark, snowing, etc.
