The Weather Network had an article saying they expect a quick transition to Spring temperatures in mid-March, and a warmer and dryer than average Spring thereafter. Looking at the 10-day forecast too that appears to be the trend.
There hasn't been much snow, which is all I care about - the cold hasn't been bothering me too much.
"It's been extremely cold across this region, but we're not done yet. We've got about two to three more weeks,'' said Scott. "But it's not going to be tulips and daffodils and clear sailing into May.''
He said the Prairie provinces can expect a shock of warmer weather, but there will be swings of wilder winter conditions at the end of March into the beginning of April.
Once spring arrives, warmer than average temperatures are expected across Alberta, with below seasonal precipitation in the south and a normal amount in the rest of the province.
I dunno. Seems the last few weeks have resulted in pretty significant snow accumulation.

Yeah, but it was on a base of basically nothing, so it's still about average for this time of year. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

All I know is my back yard and alley is fucking full of snow and ice, just like they were at this time last year.
We need a week straight of 5-10C highs to start making a dent.

Main roads have been completely clear all month except for only a couple days, that is pretty good in my books. We never really got any 5++ inch dumps of snow, let alone consecutive ones, just the odd 1-2" over long periods of time that dispersed relatively quickly. Even our residential roads that do not get plowed hardly have any snow on them at all compared to previous years. I've been pretty happy with the winter we've been having overall. I dislike smokey Summers and cold Falls far more than a cold Winter.
I do this but only because I engine brakeThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
and for gas saving.. no need red-lining coming to an intersection then having to brake hard. if coming to an intersection that is turning yellow/red soon I rarely have my foot on the gas pedal.
It would be preferable to be able to drive my car before the Equinox happens.
My yard and alleyway have almost none of the snow and ice we did this time last year. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
March 1st '18, my measuring stick said 16" in my yard. today is only 3".
I have easily a 3 foot drift in my back yard
I echo Twin Cam, would be nice to have line of sight to driving my car again...

Fook its cold out this morning. Its times like this that I give a little cheer each time the HE furnace has a successful heating cycle.
Cocoa $11,000 per tonne.
Highest water temp I saw in my truck yesterday was 81°C even with the winter front. Not looking forward to today.
Ambient temperature of -31, wife went to get groceries, came out, loaded trunk, then couldn't close truck because the trunk latch froze hahaha never seen that before in my life...
I've gotten very good this winter, at telling the outside temp (how far below -20) by the amount of interior condensation/ ice on our aluminum patio door (rest of the home windows were upgraded).
Similar to me except my wife works at 7am so when she goes out I get many texts about how cold it is while I’m still in bedThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

LOL .... My wife just has 'winter mode' - her bed heat is on 24/7, her vehicle is pre-warmed in our garage with a small IR heater, down comforter, down jacket. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
