    I’m not that old haha.

It was a false reading, or the first security girl fucked something up. The supervisor came and unpacked all my shit, swabbed everything including my underwear, and tested negative. Had to fill out a form of who I am, what I do, and what I’m doing. Got a full on aggressive pat down, and the dude had to stand there and wait till everything else was cleared in case I tried to make a run for it. Good times.

"Had to fill out a form of who I am, what I do, and what I’m doing"

I would have written my name down (as its on the ticket) but as for the rest, CATSA can get bent and I would have filled in WHAT I DO = "anal sex probe insertion tool specialist" and "going to a smut and whore fest fuck show". The CATSA staff can then muse/laugh about this in their break room. The entire organization is a facade.

Damned cold, and supposed to stay that way. I have battery chargers hooked up to my vehicles. In my opinion that's more important than block heater, although ideally you'd run both.

Didn’t plug my truck in last night, probably going to have to plug it in for an hour before I leave today.

Stoney trail wasn't bad at all today, just blowing snow. It was just the stupid drivers - no lights on, making their own lanes, not moving over, snow packed on all their windows...christ

Traffic was light this morning from Shag/Country Hills to the University and on 14 St. Still managed to find all of Calgary's worst drivers.

Nice and cold out there today. Scary to see how many people don't plug their cars in or put them in a garage.

We have 1 car in the garage and one ready for a block heater. Glad I can work from home so I don't have to go anywhere

Block heaters are for chumps. Battery chargers are where it's at. #chargeduplyfe

I know you feel that this is the good choice, but it isn't unless your battery is weak.

A battery only holds so much juice. Charging it doesn't make a difference if its charged.

What does make a difference is there being heat in the combustion chamber so the engine actually fires. And having the oil warm so it flows easier. And the engine being warm since there is less friction.

Yes, your battery being charged will allow the car to turn over... At the exact same rate if the battery was good.

Now, all of this is irrelevant because I haven't had a properly maintained car not start unplugged, even lots of 90's models.

If anything, you need a battery warmer, which will give you more CCA. Trickle charging a fully charged battery does nothing for heat.

I don't disagree with you. However, the number of people who "discover that thier battery went bad" in weather like this is pretty high. Those people won't be saved by block heaters.

    Ideally you'd use both.

So my 3 year old car battery goes because it’s -25 and my car was plugged in. So I’m a bad car owner?

Batteries have a life expectancy of around 5 years... With our cold temps that can be reduced. If you didn't put the battery in your car yourself... how old is it?

Never used my block heater before, until today, even thought the plug was protected by a rubber cover it was still a struggled to plug it in to the cord.
