Must be nice, telus only warns you when you have reached the limit and will only block when you have already $50 in overages. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Fido charges $10 for 100MB of overage. I wish they just stop data completely, but instead, they charge you $10, then stop your data lol. Fuckers. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Public has this too. Impossible to get surprise data overage charges. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I agree. They actually offered the 20gig infinite plan to me for $125, which was the same as I was paying before. But I have only went over my 10gigs twice in the last couple years so I opted for the 10gig infinite plan. 10gigs seems to be working for me.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Looking around
Wondering what became
Of what I once knew
we had share everything with 4 phones and 3 tablets and were paying almost $500/mo for 30GB
signed up on infinite and dropped it to $330 with 40gb pooled... works for me

Looks like Bell is on board now too, wife switched over this morning, $75 10GB BYOD and all the standard included calling features.
Coworker switched to a 25gb plan for $95 per month with telus.
Telus throttles at 512kb instead of 256kb.

Streaming sports on the road. Lately, I've been on webex calls outside of the office a lot, that chews up a ton of data especially with screen sharing. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

My thoughts were similar though, as I have WIFI virtually everywhere I go now. Home, work, etc. But I am going to start streaming Sirius from my phone app when I'm on the road commuting 2 hours a day. So I'm interested to see what that will do to my data usage. But mainly I just have 10 gigs because Telus offered it to me for free. And in the past, if I went over my plan randomly by like 1 gig in a month, I might as well have just upgraded to a bigger plan for the entire year for what I paid in data overage.
i get pretty close to my 10GB per month. In fact just got a 90% warning text now... luckily my plan rolls over in 3 days so should be good without topping up.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
for me, the work wifi from my company is shit (slow at only 1.5MBps, and also filtered) so i use data pretty much everywhere outside my house. also my router strength doesn't reach my back yard, so when i'm out there chillin i'm also using data. I should probably get an extender or something but that's another problem for another day.
Big use I see is tethering my laptop for remote desktop into workThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Parents and I went on the Roger's infinite plan as well. The timing was incredible for us since we have been waiting months for Telus to setup service at their acreage.
At the time it was cheaper than my 2GB plan so that was a no brainer, I use about as much as you do but it's nice to have the freedom to hot spot or download a big file on rare occasions if need be.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I recently got a text from Telus offering me $70/month + 15G of Data. Texted back Yes and never looked back.
I think it is actually better deal than infinite plan with throttle
any Fido deals going on?

freaking Bell. They somehow managed to screw up my bill date vs usage date, and gave me a usage notice and shut down data on the first day of use. I call them, they say 'yes we screwed up, we'll put a note on your file so you dont get billed for it.
Big surprise, get billed for it. Call back, they say 'yes we see note, we'll get it in there before your visa is charged', so bill goes back to normal. Check my VISA today, they still billed me the full pop for the extra usage. Call them, 'we will refund, but it will take 10 calendar days'..
Buncha bozos.
