Yep, go in the exit and say you're using the pharmacy. They'll let you right in. Also handy if you want to use the food court. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
yup, the membership fee is well worth it for us. TP, paper towel, kleenex, meat are our main purchases.
unfortunately i'm also "the friend" that all my siblings use my card for. Not too much of an annoyance since we have two cards (wife main, my card is companion), but there's been the odd time when i need to go alone and my brother hadn't returned my card yet
I always go in the exit to get the hotdog and pop. They say can i see your card. I say "pharmacy" and walk right by to the concession standThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I was sittting eating a hotdog a few months ago and i see a guy roll this to the return counter. When i left i snapped a pic.

Super old white guy, or asian?
How do you return a 19 year old TV?

I am just hoping that they're assuming Costco takes in old TVs for recycling lol.
I remember the thread when that TV thing came up. It was hilarious.
I googled it out of curiosity. In 2007 Costco changed their return policy on electronics from unlimited to 90 days. Anything electronics or TV purchased prior to 2007 can be returned whenever you want, for any reason, as long as you have the receipt because the return policy was grandfathered. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. People are still returning old ass TV's that were expensive as shit at the time, and buying the most expensive flat screens with money left in the pocket.

I hate the place as it's full of degenerate cheap assholes. People will stop mid aisle blocking the whole thing with their cart, and pretend like you don't exist while you wait for them figure out what they want off the shelf.
But the membership is so cheap, and we still get a few things there. So screw it I keep the membership. If I got all my gas there, the 2% cash back or whatever it is would easily cover my membership dues each year. Mainly it's great for tires, you won't find Blizzaks cheaper anywhere else. Plus the mount and balance is dirt cheap and comes with lifetime free tire repair.
I would definitely agree that the lack of spatial awareness is quadrupled in Costco.. or people just dont give a shit in there cause it's a 'warehouse'.
that being said, we have the exec membership. Balzac costco is tolerable if you avoid it on weekends.
I love Costco. I also just go on weekday evenings and it's never busy at all. I couldn't imagine going there in Sat/Sun all the time where people just park their carts everywhere because nobody else in the world matters except them, and you can't even move.
Superstore is OK for some things or if you don't need to buy in bulk but Costco is much better for certain foods (like organic eggs) and also household items like kleenex / TP / Paper Towel, etc.
I find like 4 pm is the best time to go to Costco. All the people working haven't made it there yet and all the moms have left to get their kids. We go to the one out at Sarcee around then.

From a corporate standpoint, it's less than a drop in the pond for them to give credit for a 19 year old TV towards another product. Money goes back into their pocket anyway.
I don't know if anything similar ever made the news but that's just free advertising haha.
Win-win for the little guy and big conglomerate.
My wife and I have the the 2% back and the cheque we get pays for the membership. Costco is a pain to deal with so I always get there right when they open (Easthills and the one in Crossiron are not busy), grab what I need and get out. Getting gas during the week (either at 6:30 when they open or right before rush hour) helps as well. If I remember correctly, if you are a costco member, you can get 1000 off a GM (used to be ford) vehicle so that is also a nice bonus.
I love triggering people from Okotoks by saying I use "their Costco".
I get most of my groceries at beacon hill and get my gas there as well. Very convenient.
