If I water my grass just once a week, but for 2 hours, does that mean the roots will go ultra super-duper deep?
Asking for SKR.

I’ll allow it

Can anyone tell me what kind of weed this is? Tips on getting rid of them? They're slowly multiplying in my yard...
Also, has anyone dealt with this white powdery mildew? Its only on a small strip of grass near the fence that doesn't get as much sun as the rest of the yard.

Those look like dandelion leaves.
You can dig them out or use something like this that kills the weeds but not your lawn: https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/k...3780p.html#srp
Thicker lawns and fertilizers containing iron help control weeds, but if you have neighbors who don't care about their lawn and have lots of other dandelions in the area, it's pretty much impossible to stay on top of.
The white stuff is fungus and is common on grass that is too wet in the shade. You can try using a fertilizer with less nitrogen (shade grass doesn't need as much), and watering it less frequently (but longer when you do). You can also try over-seeding with a grass type better suited for shade. It's especially common on Kentucky blue grass which we have a lot of here.

it was 46C here today, my south facing back lawn is cooked well done, the front yard is still looking pretty decent. I'm going to do minimal maintenance from now until August, let things go kind of dormant, watering every couple days, no fertilizer, mow once a week at highest setting. Come mid August I'm going to aerate, spray for weeds and push with lots of water and fertilizer. It was looking really good this spring, I think it will come back a lot better this fall.
Absolutely soaking my quackgrass right now, sprinkler has been on for about 1.5 hours.
I need advice on order of operations, please.
Vacation place has large "lawn" roughly 0.25 acres. It's maybe 50% grass polluted with dandelions, thistles and clover, etc. I am not looking for a pristine lawn, just some improvement with more & stronger grass and fewer weeds.
Options:
1.) Killex blanket spray now. Then aerate and overseeding in one month .
2.) Aerate and overseeding now. Killex blanket spray in one month.
Which makes the most sense?

Wait. You make fun of me on Killex math and you can't figure out what to do first? Of course Killex. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Why compete for water unnecessarily?
LoL! My hands were slippery with inferior sausage grease and I typed it wrong. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I've never been in a scenario like this. I suspected Killex first, but it's best to confer with experts on items like ducks and lawns.
Now I don't doubt that you eat your shitty sausages directly with your sausage fingers, but don't blame low quality grease for your typos. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Watering everyday got my lawn through the heat wave.
I had a lot of winter kill in the newly planted garden and had to replant a number of shrubs and plants as well.

That won't do anything. I once left my water on for three days. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Enmax confirms that water is worthless. Waste away my brothers.

90_Shelby wins at lawning.
Always put a timer on my phone as I’ve left my sprinkler on for far too long a few too many times lol.
Snuck in a quick fertilize yesterday before all the rain started. Lawns looking pretty tight.
Any suggestions for fertilizer during the summer or pick a decent one that's on sale and call it a day?
