We go there quite often since it is about 35 minutes from city limits (Edmonton) and the roads that direction are so quiet.
It is a nice campground but only book in site A-32 to A-72. These site are noticeably larger than the other sites. I was told once that they were added much later to the campground. No idea if that is true, but the sites are bigger and further apart than the other ones.
As for the area, it is not a swimming lake although there is a sandy beach if you have small kids that want to play. Lots of play grounds and tons of hiking trails. Probably our favorite part is the trails. Tons of birds, beavers and snakes around to see. We usually go here early or late in the season since we are normally just hike or relax by the fire. I go different places if I want an actual beach.
