I must have hit the lottery then.
I called 8281 on Friday. Checked the wait time online... said 31 mins. Reason for calling was to get full access to my online account.
Called the number. Automated system answered. Did the automated thing to find the correct person to talk to. Automated system transferred me over. I expected to be on hold for 1/2 hour. Nope. Real live person answered immediately. Verified my identity. Emailed me the security code. I saw it come into my inbox. Entered the code on the CRA website. Done.
Total time spent on the phone - 6 mins. I called on Friday at 9:10am MDT. Maybe give that time a shot? I dunno. Pretty crazy contrast between your experience and mine tho. Nevertheless, that's a gov agency for yah.
