Default Major US retailers dropping prices.

I wouldn't say its to help the consumers so much as to reduce risk of being targetted by the US government on anti-competitive or price gouging laws. Billion or ten Billion US fines to other retailers would be a way to raise some money, instead of just going after Apple.

Realistically the retailers have lost a lot of lobbying strength to angry consumers. It is an election year afterall. Biden also opening the strategic petroleum oil again.

They've been outproducing Russia and SA inc crude since 2018 according to a recent USEIA report, though. Sure, they've produced more in 2023 during that time, but they've been a top producer since before the last election, which includes the Trump years. So I don't know if your assertion that producing more is beneficial in an election year is true given that it didn't work in the last election.

Whatever happen to the whole US shale oil was drying up and we'd see a drop off in production?

They can outdrill declines. Not sure they can outdrill GOR issues in the permian, but we'll see how they get around that.

No... Totally your fault, but well you played into me perfectly and it was much deserved on my part. I hadn't eaten all day and not thinking right and my instinct was clearly wrong. That one goes in the ol' memory bank for sure ha!

Not my fault you don't trust liberals. Consider it a tax, if it makes you feel better!

It's not my assertion about anything zenops said, I was just making a joke eluding to the fact that Biden has never stopped draining the SPR.

I'm not sure what you're eluding to in regards to production?
