HSBC prime - 1.24% until May 2026. I do be laughing at how good that felt to get. Though I guess we’ll see how much rates climb if it was worth taking over 2% fixed.
That is awesome since with the bullshit of TD it is actually prime minus 0.6 for me. But it was the last of the discounted rates when I made the switch. And thankfully I have now been in it long enough that the penalty I paid breaking what I had is already recouped and I'm in gravy mode. It'll take rate hikes bigger than the overall economy can sustain over the next 18 months to make it a bad deal for me. But your deal is awesome. Jealous and such.

What if Russian oil gets "blended" with China or middle East oil?
I'm sure some country is helping the resale eventually.
You mean 42 countries rebadge Australian coal and sell it back to China? Of course it happens.

    But it doesn't stop speculation.

IOSAT potassium pills haven't gone up in price much. $28 for three people on two week dose is actually quite a bit lower than the last years. The price is low, but availability is also low. So I'm not sure if that can be counted as inflation.

Potassium pills cuz, live for best but prepare for worst. Eating an extra banana per day for a month probably is a better dietary choice.

Literally said this to my wife last night.

"Go figure the market takes a steep up tick when we are ~14 months from renewal."

    Tis what it tis.
Might be worth the penalty to renew early. I'll have to do the marth.

I'm fairly sure I paid <$300 for one of these a few years ago. What nano molecule has become so rare to justify this?!

You should see the bill you will get for underpinning your homes plumbing with something you bought from a Canadian tire.

    LoL!
It's connected with PEX lines in the utility room next to the floor drain. Meanwhile, everyone has a fridge connected with a McDonald's straw to their ice maker and a garden hose that's 15 years old (supposed to be replaced every 5 years) connected to their washing machine.
This is a risk I can tolerate.

Although all this reminds me of that landlord whose tenant left over Xmas and turned the heat [OFF] "to save money"... Where's that thread? I want an update.

No, I'm pretty sure it wasn't but I can't recall who. I think it was a fairly regular posting member.

Define "a few years ago", because these are pretty much the prices when I replaced mine 5 years ago. They regularly go on sale for $100-$150 off though.

I think with another stacking offer, I got the 40k grain one for just shy of $600

Mine was less than 5 years ago, for sure.
So it's possible I'm on crack and somehow "forgot" spending that much... But that really does seem like WAY more than I would want to spend on one.
I will try and find out and report back.

I somehow fluked out and found the receipt and Tik-Tok is pretty much right. Mine was actually $550 in 2018.
I'm not sure why I had $350 locked in my head on this... Maybe I used a shit pile of Cdn Tire money on the purchase! I'll check tomorrow and then not update.

Anyway - false alarm on the water softener inflation! Sorry for the confusion.

Everyone should get one of these things though. Holy Virgin Mary crab-walking across a king-size bed, is the water ever hard here!! It's gross.

But if you're one of those people who crank it up until the water is slippery, you should be put into a camp.
A camp where a dog barfs in your nose.

Hey speaking of this @Tik-Tok what water softener cleaner do you use? The Whirlpool one is suddenly very difficult to find at Can Tire or Lowes and Amazon didn't even have it. WtF?!
Of course my machine starts blinking to need a cleaning. I'm trying to spend $80 at Can Tire to get a $20 rebate and figured I'd stock up on this shit because it's not like it ever goes on sale.

I’ve always heard it’s kinetico or bust with these things.

Interested to hear peoples opinions on that. I need to pick one up some time this summer.
