Here's an actual pic of the garage. They installed the heater this week. Hopefully insulation and ceiling drywall soon.
I'd like this style of garage door. I was quoted $5k x 3, so I'm considering if that's worth it over a standard $

That's gangster. My garage envy is growing each day time to get off beyond.
Only thing with this setup of garage is you can't really park a full size crew 6.5'box truck in there.
Tap, Rack, BANG!
You are totally correct about the 20' depth limiting my large-truck parking. For the moment, I'll be parking my 3/4 ton crew cab on the driveway. There may be a smaller truck/SUV in my future to replace it. Not sure at the moment. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I absolutely love that style of garage door, but...This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
a.) They add tremendous weight, so you need to consider and/or factor for that. You may literally need more powerful openers or bigger springs.
b.) House needs to be equivalent* status or else you're one of those girls carrying a Luis Vuitton handbag but wearing a t-shirt and Crocs.
*Edit - not saying yours isn't! I don't know, at all. Just something to consider.
I'm going to a place later that has fancy doors and hopefully I can take a sample picture. It's so thick.
I believe that one pictured is insulated metal (like most other standard metal doors) but with a wood grain pattern printed on it. At least that's what we have (in a grey colour) so its super light weight, insulated and doesn't need to be refinished. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
CHI doors makes that one pictured I believe.
That's amazing, what area is this? I need more garage spaceThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Well I'll try to post a pic of the insanity I've seen, later. What I thought would be a "sturdy veneer" is actually shockingly thick.
Yea the real wood veneer doors are heavy as fuck. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

It is a kids water slide, so probably the same. I picked it up at a YMCA that was shutting down. I'll be going on a dock, on a lake at Shuswap for next summer. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Updating with the doors I'm familiar with. The"veneer" is literally an inch think. It's the same on the garage doors as the wymøn door. Heavier than depleted uranium!
What a bizarre door lol

Heater is installed, insullation is done, ceiling is drywalled.
Picked up these to go on all the walls. $1/sqft.
Had 220, 50A run incase I need a welder, or rapid charge for an electric car.
Just fyi not sure if those panels are alum or plastic but if you dont put drywall behind you might want to put some fire rated osb up to have fire rating. In case your future tesla catches fire
Tap, Rack, BANG!
My GC checked and said it's no problem to put the metal panels up against the vapor barrier, so they are doing that.
For the floor, I've decided to try a woodgrain LVP. To protect it and seal it, I'm going to use this stuff, likely in the matte finish: https://ultradt.com/all-products-sys...r-sealer-epic/. It claims to not only be very scratch resistant, but it'll also seal in the cracks between the snap-together LVP.
I don't plan to glue the LVP down. I'll first put a vapor barrior down to prevent moisture coming up from the concrete, then snap the LVP together on top, then coat it with this Epic sealer.

Oh, and the ceiling is being painted nardo grey.
Wood grain vinyl flooring?
Why wouldn’t you just epoxy it?

I've seen a few wood-floor looking garages, and I love the appearence. I worry about the durability, so this coating should help. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Also, epoxy quotes have been $6-8k. I can do the LVP route with the coating for ~$2500.
For the ceiling winch, I'm going to ditch the I-beam plan to get a 20' section of this Unistrut. I'll mount 2 of these trolleys to it, for a 1200lb load rating.
