FYI Co-Op 91 in the South (Shawnessy and Deer Run) is still ethanol free. Their pump sticker does not lie (87/89 yes ethanol, 91 no ethanol)
Their website says Dalhousie and McLeod Trail locations do contain ethanol though.
Safe ... for now.

I thought when you store empty, the tank condensates and you get waterThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I believe that is an old school train of thought when gas tanks were all steel. My Ruckus tank is aluminum so it shouldn't matterThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Given all gas come out of Scotford, would be surprised 10% ethanol would be BC only. It's cheaper just to make 1 thing instead of 2.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Let's hope ethanol stay out of Premium at Hamptons. Co-Op is the only place I get gas from now.
Please note premium gasoline at Macleod Trail, Dalhousie and Montrose also contains up to 10% ethanol.

I wonder why some co-op locations premium would contain ethanol and some wouldn't - you'd think it comes from the same source for all stores? (I tested and confirmed 2 locations in the south today) Unless it has to do with different store ownership maybe. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Until ~2 weeks ago Shell was definately ethanol free. I have a jerry can I filled up 2 weeks ago at McKenzie Shell - 0% ethanol. Same location today - 10% (and every Shell location I tried)

My guess is that they are testing the waters to see if they lose any business at those locations due to ethanol.

The average consumer doesn't care about their fuel and just fills up.
Those of us who don't want it are a very small group and don't matter.
This will really get @M.alex 's panties in a knot.

The math is simple, E98 is like 75cents wholesale. Huge boost to profit margins mixing it in with premium. Combined with the (now delayed) Clean Fuel Act that was already supposed to happen, don't be surprised if we start seeing 15% in 87 octane blends.

Calgary Co-op is slowly dropping Federated Co-op as their fuel supplier. The Federated refinery in Regina hasn’t been using ethanol in their fuel, not sure who co-op is buying from now. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Do you know if locations outside of Calgary, like Okotoks or High River, continue to use that refinery? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Calgary coop is totally separate from co-ops outside of Calgary and Airdrie. Not related companies.
Federated cooperatives runs the refinery and is the parent organization for the rural cooperatives still
Okotoks is part of Calgary Co-op as well as Strathmore. Nothing I know of outside the circle of Airdrie, Okotoks, Strathmore, Cochrane (Cardlock).
Pure gas.org shows shell 93 as e0 and 91 as e10, not sure if this is from a confirmed source

By the way Costco 91 is supposed to be e0, at least from the last time I checked with their customer service a couple months ago
I've tried Costco 91 a few times and had very poor mileage from it, even if it's ethanol free. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Noticed that as well, I actually found Chevron 94 is not much more $ per km in my FRS.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
for me the mileage seems to be minor, 0.5l/100km it seems, turbocharged and NA. Butt dyno for shell seems just a bit quicker but no significant differenceThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I tested 93 at several Shell stations - it definitely has 10% ethanol

The X5 i bought earlier this year really is FULLY LOADED though not a single option missing including infrared night driving
Latest Shell 91 with ethanol has reduced maybe 20-30km off usual range.
