On the Regal, we went to a smaller pulley (I think it was off of a Montana) but we still ended up needing some relocation brackets.

Was lucky enough to find a ICT relocate kit local to me from someone changing their accessory set up.
I didn't want to pay $400+/- for a new one, so this works out good for me.
Still has to come off their vehicle, so likely Wednesday I'll have that. That particular kit doesn't work with a gen 4 water pump but a buddy has one to swap.
Driveshaft getting measured and ordered today. Downpipe is getting fabbed today.
Things are getting very close to being wrapped up.
Edit: @never any have issues with your pump running a smaller pulley? Dario suggested the same thing with the Montana pulley. Any info I could find last night seemed to point towards either good luck or bad luck doing so. Even had a buddy telling me one their friends s10 set up they had aeration issues.

I don’t think the Regal has any pump issues that I am aware of…but I’m also not sure if the smaller pulley was needed with the bracket. Just try the ICT bracket first and see if that solves the clearance issue.
Haha power steering pumps are a fuck around. Mine makes noise so I think I got the wrong amount of washers in it for the pressure change for my R&P.. so gotta fuck around with that unfortunately.
Never - That's good you don't have issues, just things I've come across.
Hopefully the ict kit works out as it should for me.
JfuckinC - Get that camaro sorted out so you can put more kms on that than your Nissan haha
I really don’t think the smaller pulley will be necessary with the bracket so hopefully you won’t have to worry it. I didn’t pay too much attention to that…I made Larry deal with that, he was getting too relaxed just watching me and Jay do all of the work.
On the plow squarebody with the LS, I just swapped the fitting from the SBC pump into the LS pump…that seems to be working well. Other than the steering box leaking like an old man in Depends.
Smaller pulley plan (arrives tomorrow) in place unless the gentleman that said he'd sell me his relocation kit stops ghosting me.
Had a plan from Monday night, checked in Tuesday evening (like discussed) and he hasn't read the message yet today. Yes, I was that guy and sent another message out today with no change. I strongly dislike flakes.
Pulley ordered. See if/how that works and maybe order a relocation kit down the road if need be. Fingers crossed I have good luck with the pulley.
Car should be getting fired up here in the next few days.
Getting closer...
Guess I'll be using a small filter
Maybe a "mushroom" style or try the super small k&n
Hopefully I'll like the exhaust sound without mufflers
Was hoping to fire it up over the weekend but didn't quite get there. This week at some point I think.
Start with the loudest exhaust and adjust as needed has always served me well lol. The size of the turbine will affect how quiet or loud it is too.
My Malibu was muffler-less and I liked that but there was little to no highway driving.
I'm hoping this sees more trips, so time will tell. I'm thinking it'll be alright until I get on the loud pedal.
Lots of room for resonators or mufflers if needed.
I think you did a 4L80…so with the lockup converter, you should be laughing. With the shorter 5” downpipe, the brown car drone was brutal on the highway cruising around 100 km/h and the TH400…but it sounded awesome at WOT. As long as you don’t get drone at highway cruising speeds, you’ll probably like it at any other speed/rpm!
Lots of room indeed if needed. Yes, went with a 4l80e, so I really don't think it'll be an issue. Fingers crossed for no drone at cruising speeds.
Looking great, love the exhaust - I haven't heard a lot of that era vehicles with straight pipes, love to hear that this year sometime. I hear you on the highway drone. Great car and thread...more!
Appreciate it.
Not sure if I'll make it as far south as Calgary over the summer with the car but if you're ever up in the Edmonton area shoot me a message.
I thought it was supposed to be a streetcar?? You should be cruising all over the place! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

It is a street car! I didn't say I wasn't going to drive it, I said I don't know if I'll make it down there or not.
Oh look, downpipe completed and wrapped.
Not a whole bunch left - still messing around with the power steering. Later today I'm actually supposed to get my hands on that bracket I mentioned earlier. What a ride this turned out to be
Besides that, install downpipe, wire starter and fill fluids.
Tentatively scheduled to hit the dyno in a week, then get as many shakedown kms in as possible over the weekend. Hopefully find no issues to resolve.
Ha, no issues…what a dreamer!!This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
