Seems stupid, but according to my email you are supposed to test school kids twice a week at home for the next month.
I hate things.

If they ever get tests kits to people …
Sunday night and Wednesday… but no test kits no testing …
But my kid just had covid … and vaxxed still need to test ? I find it unlikely that they would get it again in the next couple of months

My son's school (Churchill) just gave 1(5) test kits to all kids last Friday. Not sure if this will be given every couple of weeks when this runs out though cause we've been unsuccessful in getting test kits elsewhere. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
This must be what the United States did in order to let them all go to sporting events and crowd into all forms of entertainment... Right?
IMO, just let 'er rip already. Self testing twice a week isn't going to do diddly squat to curb spread.

How would they even know if people are using the at home tests? Are they saying that your kids have to show their teacher a picture of it once it’s taken?
See Crank. See Crank Walk. Walk Crank Walk.
My school is specifically saying that you do not have to share the results. So it's essentially completely voluntary. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
However, if you ask a Canadian to do something, 80% of them will do it. They might complain, but they'll do it. Even if it's gibberish nonsense.
Had a chat with the moms at the bus stop today. Seems like everyone is doing a slightly different version. Some schools haven't sent home test kits yet, some have. Some are asking for weekly, some twice a week, and one mom said she planned to test people with symptoms. Don't think there is any way to "compel" submission of results, so it's all basically voluntary testing and voluntary disclosure. If a person was thinking selfishly, they'd see that asymptomatic testing can have no benefit for a household of healthy vaccinated people.
Kinda suspect a bunch of schools will be shut down due to staffing issues soon enough. Fuck I'm so done with all this.

Issue is that we don't really know how long immunity lasts...
From what my wife told me (she's a teacher), students do not need to report results, and if they are sick and at home, they don't need to say that it is COVID. So basically if the kid is sick, it's assumed they have COVID.
my kid just tested positive for the second time in 60 days. Figure that one out. The rapid test from school instantly changed colors. So far rest of house is good still. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

How many people do that questionnaire with their kids every day before school? probably no one.
I have a questionnaire I have to do every day before daycare. If I don’t do it I get in shit lmao.
I definitely… fill in the form haha

There is 0 liability attached to those forms is there, especially if your kid doesn't have any symptoms?
It's pointless. Everyone is working thru this one to get everyone else infected. It's not if, but when.
Wasterwater stats is going up again. And seems like Calgary South is having 2x the concentration as North. If I'm a betting man, school in the south with short teachers 1st.

My old daycare used to take their temps with a super accurate, #1 fermometer. It would frequently read as low as 34°C and they'd let them in but theoretically if it said 38.000 they'd be denied entry. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

You're correct. It's on a grade by grade basis. No subs seem to be showing up.
