Just wondering if anyone has gone through this recently? There's literally a million carpet places. Just looking for about 400 sq ft including a staircase supply and install.
Thanks

When wee finished the basement (~ 4 Years ago) we used Oaktree carpets and Flooring off of 32 nd AVE.
Price was reasonable for the quality of the carpet we got and the Installer was really good.
Long time ago I used Ron Dumais Flooring. Did great work and showed up when he said he would.
Can't track him down besides his LinkedIn. Could try there.
Carpet Mills Outlet. Provides best prices right off the ask and installers did a great job. He even factory ordered stuff for us at a great price compared to other shops we found it at.
Don't cheap out on product or you'll be doing it again in 5 years.

I say stupid shit all the time.
Get Mohawk Smartstrand. Have had it for 12 years now, still looks new.
We used Grande Design Flooring on Flint road 2 years back for carpet for the basement. Price was reasonable and the guy at the shop was super knowledgeable. He took us in the back and we looked at a dozen or so similar carpets and he spent time explaining the differences between the products and underlay. Sent us home with some samples and just asked that we returned the one sample board within the next 3 days. We didn't feel pressured at all to buy but ended up getting everything through them. The installer was great and got everything done same day. This was for about 500 sqft of flooring plus 12 stairs.

For carpet installers: Ask if they use a power stretcher. Do not hire anybody that says that a kicker is good enough.
Whats it cost /ft2 compared to builder grade shit? Or do you recall? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
When I bought it was a brand new product and it was extremely expensive. It has to have gone down by now, but I would expect it to still have some premium over other products. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I have used Oaktree multiple times and deliver quality from sales to install.
Dug into my rolodex for you guys.

I used End of the Roll - I knew going in its basically bottom of the barrel. They told me it was Mohawk carpet - not sure if thats true. I had about 1200sq/ft done for $3000 just over 10 years ago. I have kids and pets and its actually held up ok. I do a hot carpet clean every few years but the main pathways are getting worn down.
Its probably time to rip it out and get some hard floors at some point.
EotR are totally legit, but they're not any cheaper than anywhere else.

Might have been cheap when they started out 30yrs ago. Not any more.
Purchased from EotR as well. Good service
Yeah their name and bare bones warehouse style sure do make it look like they sell odds and end pieces (for discount) but even back in 2016-2017 when I bought from them it wasn’t the case at all like mentioned. But their service was attentive, and had decent enough selection

My list of random For Sale (some free) stuff
April 9th were having about 30 stairs, basement and upper floor being done by millhouse. Will report back how it went.
I used West Valley Flooring at Creekside over the summer and they were great to deal with. Got another quote from some other place and he told me that he'd beat any price on the same product. Installer worked his ass off and installed 119 SqYd plus stairs all in one day. We went with Mohawk Everstrand ForeverFresh, made a big facelift over what was there.
