    Default retaining wall Q

Hey Beyonders! Questions for you experts.

So my neighbours yard is 3 feet lower than mine, there is a retaining wall between the 2 yards. The fence is sitting on top of the retaining wall and everything is starting to lean towards his yard. I understand fences are 50/50 between the neighbours but who's responsibility would the retaining wall be?

Any non expensive way to fix it? who would i call for this?

A 5 foot tall wall? That's an engineer. You are fucked.

Retaining walls are expensive. Just have a discussion with your neibour, i think its a 50/50 best case scenario

Check your survey/RPR. It's not uncommon for taller retaining walls to be built entirely on the high side of the property line, making the wall and fence the responsibility of the higher lot.

I had something similar with our original 40+ year old wall and fence. I just took down the fence and rebuilt it straight up using post holders. Still straight over 10 years later because the wall finished settling a long, long time ago.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

Yeah if it's just wood, or even mostly wood, don't touch the wall whatever you do. Hard to tell from pic and description.

Just touch your wood, is what I'm hearing. Always a good option.
