It wasn't that easy for me when helping a family member last month. Turkey didn't work. I think we ended up with Nigeria. Even then we has to sign up to you tube music then find an upgrade option within the YouTube music area as the premium family plans just weren't appearing.

Last month was $2.88 for me.

No annual in turkey either. It's monthly. Probably to allow for rate increases and not locked in.
Some are using a youtube music backdoor sign up to get youtube premium.

Get India people to add you to their family and have them subscribe to premium for $18 cad a year. Buy them a case of beer next time you visit. No vpn or anything required.
