Default Steel Hood - Media Blasting?

Anyone have advice on where to get an old steel hood blasted? Asked my buddy that has a big sand blaster at their shop, he said the operator was concerned about it warping due to frictional heat.. But that's a giant industrial unit used for vessels and shit..

    Any advice appreciated, thanks.

Are you wanting to remove paint, rust, or?
Warping due to local heating is a real concern, as is material removal.

You could go old school and use paint remover and then a wire wheel.

Sand blasting is always hard on thin metals.

Consolidated's unit is also a pretty strong one, I would be wary of using it on thin panels. You may be better off going the chemical stripping route.

I'm going to consolidated to blast some rock bars here soon. I did a motorcycle frame there some years ago and it works great.

I've used the cabinet blaster at consolidated for smaller parts.

Yup there is a few variations out there of it. It may take a few applications but it can usually chew through it pretty good.

Will depend on how thick the paint is etc.
