This Sharks v Oilers games is a bit like watching two retards playing chess...

Can someone explain to me why teams are reluctant to put injured players onto LTIR? My simple brain says it's a big benefit because you accrue cap space every day. But apparently not? Or there's some other drawbacks?

Wow, that is the first article where I understood the drawbacks. I get it now. LTIR doesn't accrue over time like cap space would. That's mistake #1 from my assumption, and in fact, it basically means you'll never accrue cap space. It kinda prevents it.
