    Default Getting my bike license

Hey guys, maybe you all can help me clear this up.

I had a motorcycle learners license in Saskatchewan for a year, and never bothered to take the road test and therefore lost my learners when I moved to Alberta.

I was talking to my insurance broker yesterday and she said there is no motorcycle learners license in alberta.

So how the hell do I get my license?

I've been riding bikes for a long time(before I got my learners), and some since I moved, so I am pretty sure I can pass the road test.

So do I just need to take the written and road tests and then I am set?

Also, my bike is in Saskathcewan still, how the hell can i use it for my road test if they won't insure my bike (in turn alowing me to put plates on it) if I don't have my call 6 license already?

    Kind of a catch 22.

    Thanks

My insurance company insured my bike before I had my class 6.

There is no learners. Just go into a registry, write the test and arrange for a road test. Pretty simple really.

You should also be able to use your Sask insurance... if you are still a resident.

is the road test the same as class 5? you just drive around and show them that you know the skills they taught you?

And where does the marker sit? behidn you? (cause wouldn't it be diffrent driving with someone hanging on to you?

Its similar to class 5 but the marker follows you in a car. there is a little slow speed skills section too w/ pylons where they walk around grading you on braking and balance and stuff.

Mine was just a road test through a residential neighborhood. They test you ability to start on a hill as well. I almost fuxored that one up...

    Right on.
Would you guys say the road test is hard?
I've been on a bike about 5 times in the last years... Lots before that.
I feel completely comfortable on a bike but am a little out of practice.

    Think I'll run into trouble?

it was all super easy don't sweat it! I dropped a gear and hit the gas when a light turned yellow and left my instructor in the dust HEHEHE:tongue:
I just waited for him and then we kept going. Don't worry about it

Well my Bike has just been sitting in Sask in someones garage for awhile without any registration. I have a truck registered/insured here in alberta so they might start to wonder.. hehe my isurance broker told me it was going to only be $120/yr for me to insure the bike and I was paying quite a bit more than that in Saskatchewan.

How much is reg/plates for the bike here?

Thanks for all the info everyone.
