aww but thats alot, ive found them for $1500cad b4 and im just looking for mabye 3rd hand
you get what you pay for......an engines probably not something you wanna cheap out on....you'll just end up regretting it.
Maybe with a cut harness and no sensors. You wont find a quality engine that cheap. Look for a CA if that is your price range.Originally posted by F.D.S

i can get up 2200 im also working on an silvia conversion so thats taking a big chunk of my budget so mabye ill just wait a few months
Why not just buy a Silvia rather than doing a conversion and doing a swap? It will be much cheaper.
You can probably get a ca18 for 1500 but I doubt an sr20
well can i get a silvia for under $5000?

OWNED.
check import concern.
well not really the s13 conversion was only 900 cad so i just need an sr20det and most silvias that are on importconcern that come with an sr20 cost 9-10 grand so if i just buy one here and install it myself the total cost for my conversion would be roughly $3900
why do you "need an sr20"?
a CA can do just the same if not BETTER than the SR
can you get me an ca18det?
It will be VERY VERY hard to do a complete SR20 swap for only 3000 dollars. Trust me I have done the swap. There are a lot of things other than the engine that you will need, and if you cant do the labour yourself add a lot more money into the picture.Originally posted by F.D.S

can you tell me what problems you ran into to help out a little?
Its a pretty simple swap, just cant get it running 100% so its going into the shop. Besides the engine you need lots of other things, power steering lines, gauge cluster depending on the year of your 240, intercooler and piping, fuel pump, elec fan, and lots of hoses and little things that will add up.
sooo it would be ideal to get a clip??
Depending on the price compared to a motorset. All the pieces that you dont get with the swap can be obtained easily.
