    Default R12 chargings...

    anyone know of anyplace in town that still recharges R12 systems?

    conversion will cost me $2000.00 so....

    anyone using some of the new replacements for r12 like freeze 12 , R12A, or others...

    if not i guess i will just have to suffer in the heat!

    Hmm try giving Autotemp Air and Sound a call....but I cant remmeber what the guy was tellin me that r12 was banned or illegal from a certain year so they stopped using that

    All I remmeber is he said its $119 for recharge..and $199 for conversion

    I think it's illegal to sell R12 these days.

    We have a cooler that uses R12, and the guy refused to refill it because he could be charged.

    $199.00 for conversion?

    i drive a 1991 bmw so i doubt the conversion would be $199.

    and yes, R12 hasn't been used since 1992, but i thought it was just illegal to make any more, but not illegal to use up the stock that is left.

    and what about R12A? anyone in town using this stuff?

    r12 is banned for use in refilling. you can get you bimmer converted for $200. just need to evac. convert the fittings and refill with r123a.

    cool, no pun intended.

    i assume you do this at alpine?

    what if i also told you that i think i need the power regulators for the aux fan replaced, do you do that kind of thing as well?

    i turn on the a/c but the aux fan never runs (making the engine too hot obviously, especially in +30 temps). fuses check out ok and i'm not sure how to check the regulators...
