Default Another "What Tune" (Phil Collins?)

I've heard it tons, and I'm pretty sure it's Phil - but could be wrong.

I don't think these are the words but he really draws out one word each chorus.

    Something like

    "I belieeeeeeeeevvvvve in you,
    blah blah blaaaaaaaah, blah blah.
    All I neeeeeeeeed is you.
    Etc.

Driving me mad (Yah I know, it's not a long trip).

    Thanks,

    Khyron

Sounds kind of like "Mike and the Mechanics - All I need is a Miracle"

its really easy to tell if its phil collins cause of his voice
Listen fam, she had a big rack of lamb
And they caused mad problems like math exams
Ask my man, her tits caused traffic jams

Definately not Mike and the Mechs, but that line in the chorus is sure similar.

In the Phil (I'm 99% sure) song there's no drop in pitch during the long EEEEEEEED part. It's all done in quite a high tone that I sure couldn't pull off without croaking like a frog.

And I'm just making up the words - It could be :

    My slurppeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, is, cold.
    Salamiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii is, good.

If I was to write how the pitch goes it's like:

    All I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeed is you.

I've gone though about 25 songs, I dont have anything.

    Only one possibility:

Phil Collins - You'll be in my Heart.

Nope - wasn't that one of his movie tracks (Lion King?) anyways definately not. Argh, it's probably someone that sounds almost like Phil which is sending me on a goose chase.

Argh I was afraid of that. When I find it, I'll post it and you'll all be like "Ohhhh THAT song". It's like the opening to Enter Sandman - you just know it.

I think it actually is "My Slurpee is cold, Salami is good" by Phil Collins! JK - it'd be funny if those were real lyrics.

Something Happened On The Way To Heaven
    I just searched on yahoo.
    some of the lyrics:
We had a life, we had a love
But you don't know what you got till you lose it
But that was then, this is now
And I want you back, how many times can I say I'm sorry (how many times)
    Yes I'm sorry

Well how can something so good go so bad
How can something so right go so wrong
Well I don't know, I don't have all the answers
But I want you back, now how many times can I say I'm sorry (how many times)

Well you know, you can run, and you can hide
But I'm not leaving unless you come with me
We've had our problems, but I'm on your side
You're all I need, please believe in me, ah yeah

Damn - I really thought that was it! Lyrics are similar, but the emphasis is on the I believe in you or whatever. I still listened to the whole thing just to make sure.

Thanks for digging tho (that song is actually pretty good too!)

Couldn't have been a harder artist tho - the guy has like a zillion songs with bad titles PLUS all the Genesis stuff. I'll find it eventually.

So I heard it again, and the concensus from the people I was with is that it's Steve Winwood. It's not higher love - any other popular winwood songs you might have heard on Jack a lot?

Couldnt you just call the station and ask them what song played at that time? That would probably be the easiest.

I was in a restaurant in Golden - I think it was one of those direct radio stream things. I sent an email to Jack the first time, but since I didn't have the exact time nor any other info they didn't send back a playlist.

    So wild standing there
With her hands in her hair
    I can't help remember
    Just where she touched me
    There's still no face
    Here in her place

**So cool she was like jazz
    On a summer's day
    Music high and sweet
    Then she just blew away
Now she can't be that warm
With the wind in her arms

    *Valerie call on me
Call on me Valerie come and see me
I'm the same boy I used to be

    Love songs fill the night
But they don't tell it all
    Not how lovers cry out
    Just like they're dying
Her cries hang there in time somewhere

    Someday some good wind
May blow her back to me
Some night I may hear her
    Like she used to be
No it can't be that warm
With the wind in her arms
