Thumbs down First sign that the new insurance reforms don't work.

No names to protect the innocent/guilty .

So this guy I know, used to pay $2600/year in insurance part time under parents. Over a span of 2 years, he cost the insurance company over $100,000 in claims. Not to mention large speeding tickets. I'd classify that as a "shitty driver".

Oct rules, he can't be denied, and his insurance has dropped to $700/year under the grid. Gotta love how the new system rewards shitty drivers.

Weak! Man, I used to pay $5000/yr when I was 19 years old. I was a "shitty driver" but I paid dearly for it....

shitty drivers will have their rate increased once they make a claim.... and the rest of us.. well.. keeps paying a nice low fee.

Well shitty drivers should pay out the ass. Or not even be able to get insurance.

It's like trying to buy hurricane insurance in florida. Ain't gonna happen.

I agree, but the a reform has to start somewhere right?...so those shitty drivers should consider them selves very lucky....but if a shitty driver continues they way they are this new reform will kill them

Rollback to Grid Rates for Mandatory Coverage on October 1, 2004
Less experienced drivers will have their rates for compulsory insurance rolled back to the new grid rates for the period from October 1, 2004 until their current policy ends. If they pay monthly, their payments will be reduced to the grid rate for the balance of the policy. If they have already paid in full, they will receive a rebate payment by January 31, 2005.

When their policy renews after October 1, 2004, the rate will remain capped at the grid rate for mandatory coverage. Rates for optional collision and comprehensive insurance will remain frozen.

The grid maximums drop for each year of safe driving, so these drivers should see a further reduction on renewal if they have had a clean record for the previous year. If they have had an at-fault accident, or traffic tickets, their rates will rise.

Compulsory insurance rates will be rolled back a minimum of five per cent for drivers who do not have traffic-related criminal code convictions, and rebates or reduced monthly payments will apply to the remainder of policies from October 1, 2004, to the end of each policy.

Then who is going to cover the losses that the insurance companies take as a result?

The good drivers THATS WHO. So people like me and rage2 who are over 25 with relatively clean records will end up paying more so that shitty drivers dont have to pay as much.

Shitty drivers should take the bus.

    Older people have more money.

It's crippling even for joe 16 year old who will never speed and drives just like you do.

I know it's kind of a pay your dues when your young and get rewarded when older situation.

Are your premiums going up? I am under 25 and have a clean record so why should I pay more than you? That's what the new reform is for. Do you not agree?

I agree shitty drivers should take the bus, however once the shitty drivers continue to driver shitty under this new reform everything will balance out and people will pay what they deserve to pay, based on their driving record. I don't know why this policy was in place in the first place.....its really the only thing that makes sense
