    Default U.S. Currency to get Colorized

    COLOR IS COMING, and government money makers are hoping for a warmer reception for the changes. The new $20, with its public unveiling set for the spring, is supposed to be in circulation as early as next fall.

    Jackson is first in line for a makeover. After the new $20 makes its debut, the new $50 (Ulysses S. Grant) and the $100s (Benjamin Franklin) will follow in within 18 months.

    In the works is a five-year effort, costing up to $53 million, to educate people about the changes. An important goal is to help distinguish between genuine greenbacks and bogus bills.

    bwahaha...silly americans....it's about time, thier money is so god-awful ugly....they should get rid of the $1 bill too.

    No way man, I love going to Vegas and having a nice thick stack of $1 bills. Add a money clip and you feel like king until you realize the money clip is worth more than the wad of $1s hahaha.

    Speaking of new currency, did you guys know we had a 50 cent coin issued this summer???? I was at the post office sending off some mail and I got one back for my change. Other than that one I got, I never seen any more...

    um...there always has been....they're just not very popular.....you always could go down to the post office or a bank and get some....

    haha 50 cent coins are from the 60s.....and they were put out of circulation a long time ago too...but they still come up here and there.

    same with silver dollars, and 1 and 2 dolla billz

    I saw a brand new 50 cent coin about a month and a half ago, they're coming back. I didn't get a good look at it but it was pretty damn shiney that's why i figure it's new.

    I have a 50 cent coin I got after getting gas somewhere...I think they thought it was a quarter but anyway, its marked 2002 also.
