    Hard? There's no comparison. Hendrix!!!

    Here's a hard comparison.

Jimi Hendrix vs Eric Clapton (pre Lite96 days).

Very close to the Jimi vs Van Halen comparison. Steve Vai, like EVH, very technical "perfect" guitarists, but lacks feeling. Hendrix and Page, has much more human feel to it.

So for me, I pick Page.

    Here's a better Jimi comparison:

    Jimi Hendrix or Randy Rhodes?

(admitadly a little difficult to judge seeing as there is so little material upon which to judge Randy Rhodes.)

And while we're on the topic of Ozzy guitarists...

    Slash or Zakk Wyld?

zakk wyld is better than slash technically, but slash seems to have a lot more soul to his licks, even though quite often the songs are similar (you can play falling down over sweet child of mine)

Yes, except Slash's current Velvet Revolver gig, he's lost that soul edge that he had with GnR.

And yes, he does "reuse" some stuff. The beginning of sweet child o' mine is used in paradise city as well (the so far away part). Not very often, but it happens.
