Thanks for the 14 years of LOLs. Govern yourselves accordingly and avoid uppercut reactions!
Which version did you guys get? There is the blade version (Keratome) and then there is the All-Laser version.

Is it as messed up as it seems laying there watching them laser cut your eye? I've also been thinking about it but that thought scares me haha.
It's not too bad, you just watch a light and you don't feel anything. Everything goes really blurry and you smell a tiny bit of a burning smell. When they were done they sat me up and I had super clear vision for a few minutes. Then it quickly degraded as the eye immediately starts to heal up. Took a couple of weeks before I was more or less back to normal (I had PRK). I was driving again in about a week but only a tiny bit because of the light sensitivity. The 3rd day was the worst in terms of discomfort for me but after the 3rd day there was no issues.Originally posted by relyt92

LASIK has quicker vision recovery (within 24 hours) but a tiny bit more risk because of the flap.
I have gone in for my consultation and just need to make the appointment for LASIK. I haven't heard anything bad from anyone and so far, my experience has been great with the clinic (definitely deal with a reputable clinic).
Anyone?Originally posted by stealth

Lasik (Advanced Custom Wavefront) for me.. This will probably depend on the thickness of your Cornea though (Standard Lasik vs Advanced Wavefront)Originally posted by stealth
Anyone?
I posted in your other thread but this is the main one so figured I'd post here as well.
DJ Lazy,
They are both Advanced Custom Wavefront, the difference is in how they cut your flap, one uses the "mechanical" way and the other uses a laser to cut it.
Got it done just over a week ago!
any updates guys?
how bad are your eyes?
Reckon it's worth getting done for me?
My vision isn't bad, -1 & -0.75, but i despise wearing glasses and contacts.
double post, my bad

I think mine was -1.6 or around there in both eyes.
I enjoy no longer wearing glasses.
Just their is some time before you can do certain activities, such as swimming with no eye protection (1 month).
Remember that the flap can come loose if you get hit hard in the eye, but I think it is few and far between.
No regrets.
thanks
just spoke to a buddy of mine, he had his done with Gimbel and had some complications and said he regrets it, 4k later
What kind of complications did he have?
Did mine coming up 6 months at LasikMD absolutely no issues Not even dry eyes. It was life changing for me. Wife did Gimble and she has a bit of haloing at night but still she loves her new eyes.
BUMP!
Thought about doing this a couple years ago but never went though with it.
Has anyone had pdk or lasik more recently? Any other options out there now?

I have a consultation with Gimbel end of this week, any Beyonders with recent experiences there?
No recent experiences personally, but it's something I'm looking to get done this year. Keep us posted with how your consultation goes!
