    Default Shaw High Speed Internet = FAST!

    Okay, WTF! Right now I must be "In The Zone", I'm downloading at Well over 1.5MB/sec and uploading at over 100kb/sec.


    Took me just over 4 seconds to snag a 19MB movie.

    1.5MB/sec... is that even... possible... with the shaw server.... i dont think they can even go above 1MB...

    mine is, which is really funny, cause this time yesterday the internet in my community went down, affecting about 4 streets here in Mountain Park, now its finally fixed, and its sooo fast!

    Is ADSL offered in your area? Its just kind of funny since you work for Telus.....but what the hell, it doesn't really matter

    I just dumped my ADSL and switched to shaw (shared with my roommate thru a router) and I'm SO HAPPY!@!! Shaw rips!

    This is so funny.... Last night I went to order some pizza online, and my shaw cable internet was down... AGAIN! This was the 6th time since I got shaw, on October 1st. Everyone loves shaw except me.

    my shaw connection has been shit as of late. pissing me off. it's going down like a two dollar whore with some odd rashes


    in other news telus adsl salesmen came to my house last night tryign to sell me adsl. it was funny. some jamican guy and a little french dude. i had my fun with them! haha

    the Rez im staying in U ofA is using telus i think. .. they are really shitty!! last nite it was sooo slow its not even funny...

    My friend has telus, I have shaw. We live in the same neighborhood. Consistently, shaw smokes telus in speed.

    Reliability of shaw is OKAY, at best. I've had cable for about 9 months now, and have needed to call them twice already.

    First time was the day it was installed. The installer didnt reboot the computer to check if it was still working, so as soon as I rebooted, it stopped. I had to wait 5 days for them to fix it.

    The second time, same shit, but he helped me over the phone by sending me the upgrade software through email. Otherwise, XP has no problem detecting shaw, and its worked great forever (I was running 98 before).

    Telus ADSL vs. Shaw Cable......

    Well we have ADSL upstairs and Cable downstairs and they are actually fairly even......maybe its just certain communities?

    I live in macewan, my girlfriend lives in edgemont, we both tried a dsl speed test at the same time. I clocked 1240 she clocked 980.
    This was at 1130am???? Mind you, I do have a decent connection, I'm close to the co.

    Benny, I tried getting Cadvision ADSL a long time ago, and they told me something happened to my line and I am not eligible to get ADSL. was that BS or what? I live in edgemont.

    Benny, I would absolutely love to switch to DSL. I had dsl in Lethbridge for 3 years, with no problems.

    Only issue now, is that I don't have a land-line. My two housemates and I don't feel the need to pay for a land-line when we use our cells full time anyways... and we were under the impression that you can't get DSL unless you have an active phone line?
