Default Any Experience with Battery Packs?

You've all seen them around; they sit in your trunk until you need a boost, and you don't need any one else to help you out.

Anyways, there's one at XS cargo for $30 bucks It seems really small, so i'm wondering whether or not these are any good.

    Any thoughts?

I bought one and it works fine, crappy tire had the same one for 25 during boxing day.

you can get maybe 3-4 boosts on a single charge, nice to have in the trunk in case you get stuck. You can also help others without popping your hood.

EDIT: 2500HD? you might need something bigger, they only crank out about 300amps.

    Yeah...2500HD

The sucker has 2 batteries, so maybe i'll check something with more than 300amps.

    Hahaha, 2 battery packs???

Sorry, couldn't resist. If it has 2 batteries, I would say that the little battery pack won't quite cope with it.

Although, after my last trip, I wish I had one of them. I needed to get 2 boosts on the return part of the trip =(

On a note, however, when I parked it for 2 weeks and needed a boost, it started up again with power to just one battery.

Does anyone know how much power is transferred from one car to another during a boost? That might help answer whether this pack is good enough or not.

I used one of those Canadian Tire $25 ones on New Years Day to start my car after I left the interior light on. Left it for a minute to put a bit of charge in the battery and then tried to fire the car up. It defintly didn't have a lot of power, but it did get my car started, barely.
However, I have a Honda CRX... so I'm guessing a 2500HD is gonna something a little beefier. hahaha.
