looking for manual for CommandStart
Last edited by Darwood; 02-21-2010 at 11:40 PM.
I have a computstar 2W8000FMR remotestarter/alarm. I can unlock/lock with out any problem but I can't get it to start. When I press the start button, the console turns on and I can hear some clicking and it looks like its trying to start, but it doesn't start. This happened after the battery in my car died. Also, its a 06 civic. Thanks.
Leave a key in the ignition (In the off position) and see if the car starts by remote then. It sounds like the bypass needs to be reprogrammed.
Check your PM. I sent a reply to you.Originally posted by Darwood

COULDN'T FIND @ COMPUSTAR.COM
Hi offroaderdodge,
I was wondering if you would have an install manual for an Astrostart 2205U.
If so, could you email it to me at [email protected].
thanks,
You got mail!
Hi, I was looking to get remote start for my car but I don't have the slightest idea on what brand to pick or what would be good. I drive a mazda mx6 auto and have been looking at this here,
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MAZDA...item2ea93692fb
but not sure if it will cover what I need or if there are better options out there? I would like auto start with an addition of trunk release as well. Any suggestions or recommendations would help ^^
Remote starters are not made to be vehicle specific. If you buy one on eBay, or online, and you have an issue down the road, it is very difficult to get warranty. My suggestion is to buy locally and have it installed locally. When issues arise, it is easier to talk to a person than someone online.
Just my 2 cents worth.
Do you have any specific brands you would recomend for a mazda mx6? and how much would it cost to install one if i were to have someone do it, i was thinking of doing it myself once i read across the electrical system.
Compustar and DEI are good brands. They have lifetime warranty on the units if professionally installed. Depending on the year, you may need a bypass module as well.
You will need to call around for prices. Remember there are 3 kinds of jobs
1. Good
2. Fast
3. Cheap
You can have any 2 but not all three.
Im looking at the ones from compustar what is the different between the one way and two ways?
One way is just your normal remote start, gives no confirmation of the commands.
2 Way gives confirmation of each command, ie: Lock, unlock, start, etc.
I need the wire color codes for the Command 1500/1600/1700--i`m changing to another system and need to know what wires do what.
Thanks

Hi all, Some great advice here on this thread. I am trying to program a second remote for my system - the old one seems to be wearing out a bit. But I can't get past the first step - when I push the hood-switch pin, the parking lights don't go on. It doesn't look dirty at all to me so I don't see why it isn't working. I've seen advice on this thread to ground it but I don't know how to do that. Thanks for any help.
What brand of remote starter do you have?
It is an autostart. The directions for programming the remote are the same as what you have posted here.
Push the hood switch down for a few seconds, then pull up on it and see if the lights come on.
If the lights do not come on, do they flash when you use the old transmitter to lock or unlock the doors?
I just bought a vehicle with Autostart (I checked the FCC ID thanks to you guys) and was able to determine that I have 2 different remotes, one with LED button lights, one without. (2 way and 1 way??)
To begin with, the batteries in the remotes are brand new. However, there is no response from the vehicle at all (Infiniti G35), but the LED lights flash on the remotes when pushing a button.
I am really new at this, so I guess the question is, where do I start troubleshooting?
Thanks for the assistance in advance.
