Default burning or "backing up" an unknown file type .. help!

Ok so lately i've been coming across these files which have no file extension. Namely Star Wars KOTOR2 and this LearnKey CISCO thing.

I tried giving the file extensions such as .iso or .bin (and i made my own .cue file) etc. Nothin worked unless i was lookin to make coasters.

Apparently a guy i know said his roommate said that you can use Alcohol120% to run it but i dont see how that works.

Is there any avid mIRC or Newsbin ppl that know what I'm talkin bout? Or do i sound like some kinda raving technoweenie.

So what exactly are you having a problem with? From what I can guess, it looks like you're having problems using the file? If so, I can help you. Please explain exactly what your problem is.

alrighty .. so i got these files from newsbin .. they were posted as splits (.001, .002, .003, etc). So i get em all and join them with HJSPLIT and then the file which i normally expect to be some sort of image file (.iso, .bin/cue, etc) is however unknown. The file has no corresponding file type. It simply extracted to become a file with no extension. (Ex. Instead of FILE.ISO, I get FILE). So with that said, I don't know how i'm suppose to burn this or run it for that matter. I made several attempts to change the file extension to something familiar such as .bin or .iso, etc. But that simply resulted in burning un-readable CD-R's. I've had this problem with the Star Wars KOTOR2 release which has been up on newsbin several times. So, I dont know what program to associate these extensionless files to or whether to burn them in a certain way. I hope that describes the problem.

Alcohol 120% is a burning software the recognize all image formats.

If it doesn't understand your file, you're pretty much screwed.
