    Default Hand held GPS units?

Just wondering if anyone has any expereince with hand help GPS. Im looking to get one for riding in the mountains and was just wondering what other people have been using ect. I Dont need to have all the maps and stuff like that just for north america and so that it tracks where you go.

I was looking at something like this

    http://www.canadiantire.ca/assortmen...romSearch=true

I was checking out the 200 model and it seems to just have more features i dont need.

    Any suggestions?

    Craig

I use a Garmin eTrex legend for hiking, mountain biking and motorcycling. I also keep it as a backup to the Garmin 195 in my airplane. I have a semi-permanent RAM handlebar mount for my motorcycle which keeps it readable at a quick glance even on rough road.

Its been a really good unit for the past couple years and usually take it travelling with me as well - helps to gauge distances and find your way back to your starting point in non-linear cities.
It is quite upgradeable if you decide you need more.

They are about $200, or $165 for an overhauled one. I have used www.gpscentral.ca and have been happy with them. Their showroom is in Inglewood.

I would look at a Garmin eTrex.

The Geko 101 is also an option.

I highly recommend you check out www.gpscentral.ca
They are a local Calgary company that really knows their shit. They have good prices and any product you would want.

Go there and talk to them. They won't try to sell you stuff that you don't need.

You don't want any map capability or anything? Just a plain screen that shows were you have been?
