    Has anyone gotten this email from shaw advertising Shaw Secure ?
    Have you downloaded this piece of software?
    what do you think of it?

    I haven't gotten no email and probably wouldn't use it either, rule of thumb, dont improve shit that dont need to be improved.

    I got the email too but haven't looked into it any further.

    Shaw Secure is now included as part of your Shaw High-Speed Internet service. Thanks to customer feedback we have improved your Internet service and now offer the best protection for your PC. This service upgrade is available at no charge on up to 3 computers in your home. Shaw Secures complete security package includes:

    Anti-virus - stops viruses, worms, and Trojans from infecting your computer through email, web browsing, or infected floppy disks and CDs.
    Firewall - the robust personal firewall keeps hackers and worms out of your computer.
    Parental controls - scans each website against a set of parameters that you help create to protect your children from inappropriate Internet content.
    Anti-spam - filters all inbound email messages and moves spam to a separate folder.

    I work for shaw and I gotta say this is a pretty good piece of software! Although I don't think it is any better/worse then the current antiviruses out (except norton) If you have norton uninstall that shit right away.. it waste's so much of your systems resources!!

    Well, let's put it this way. This is rebadge of F-prot's secuirty suite which costs $50/copy.

    Shaw is giving it away, up to 3 copies per customer. Like the other guy said, it's free, contains no spyware and don't hog resources like Norton.

    The downside is, I don't know if Shaw controls the updates from it's own server or F-prot's just so people won't share with non-customers.
