How much difference would there be between these two setups?

My friend is curious, and I told him I'd ask.

Setup 1:
400 Watt MA Audio Amp
300 Watt RMS MA Audio 10" Sub

Setup 2:
400 Watt Sony Xplod Amp
Two parralel 395 RMS Sony Xplod Subs


So the first sub would be running with 300 Watts, the second would be getting ~200 Watts each, for a total of 400.

Would there be much of a noticable difference?

setup one would be better cuz it would be very good to rms but then the set up 2 wouldnt get that much power id go with setup one

would depend on what your looking for, boxes, install etc.

Givin just the baisics, setup 2 would be louder, more power - greater surface are.

Not much of a noticable difference. Adding another sub and underpowering both is generally not going to give you a whole lot of extra bump. Both amps/sub combos you have chosen are bottom of the barrel crap, so don't expect to get the full claims of the amplifer (ie, the xplode claims 400watts, but will likely put out less, same with MA)

i'd go wit sony over ma if that were the choice given to me, having two underpowered subs will give you a pretty clear sound, it wont distort as easily, it will distort at higher volumes since your amp wont be able to push the subs as much as ur trying to make them go...

with either setup i dont think u should be pushn the subs to the max neways, they are lower end and will likely crap out sooner if u push em hard, but overall i'd say setup 2 wud b better, the sub box may cost u more since u need one for two subs tho...
