Question I finally have to buy my 1st Cell Phone - Suggestions? Plans?

Dammit, I thought I could go on forever w/o one of these things.

I want something simple and fashionable.

Anyone know of any good service plans? I don't need a ton of minutes. It's just for business.

    Hook me up!!!!!!!

This looks alright. I don't really need a camera phone though.

I've been using this phone for quite awhile. It's pretty 'fashionable' + basic at the same time (I have the white faceplate).

I just need a simple cell really. What types are there?
I don't know what their price ranges are but I'll make a budget of $175.

You won't get that first Sony for 175.

Perhaps a Sony Ericsson T637 would suit your needs.

The best thing for you to do is stop by a Rogers store and pick out a few models, and we can probably guide you there.

Right now, its difficult to tell whether you want a new or used unit, whether you will be buying it as part of a plan, or whether you are willing to buy from online sources (the nokia 7260 and w800 are not available locally).

I personally like bell and telus....tried fido but they made errors on my bill every damn month and sick of calling em...even tried bitching on the phone for like 3 hours trying to get em to cancel my contract for free...waste of time...but on the last bill there was no errors...first one i've ever had that was error free. I heard rogers is alright, but I use their network on my phone and it's not all that great.

Bell's the way to go in my opinion..the free incoming calls package with a audiovox 8930. I think it's 30.00 per month, not sure about how many minutes...probably not a lot, but hey, free incoming! Once my fido contracts up ima do that lol

So I guess certain brands of phones only work with certain service providers?

Yeah..unless the phones unlocked it wont work with every provider....cheaper to get phones with contracts anyways (im guessing your getting a contract? if not I dont think you can get the free incoming calls package from bell...but still look for another plan from em)

bell phones only work on bell
telus phones only work on telus
telus and bell have the worst selection of phones.
rogers and fido can use any unlocked gsm phone. i suggest a gsm phone with 850 on rogers for the best reception.

I would personally wait just a bit. There will be promos all over for back to school.

Depending if you are part of any assoications, unions or campanies that have employee plans might also make a difference. If you are shoot me a PM and I can tell you the details and if Bell offers anything that will benefit you.
