This seems like an appropriate thread for this. Good or bad.

Even though oilsands emissions only counts for 8.5% of all of Canada's emissions, apparently if a minority stakeholder doesn't get on board, nothing else matters. HmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmEnvironment and Climate Change Minister Catherine McKenna
“If the last five years have taught us nothing, it’s that if we don’t get Alberta in the right zone on this, then it doesn’t matter in terms of Canada’s emissions,” McLaughlin said.
McKenna said this week the federal government is counting on a “credible plan” from the Alberta government to help meet the country’s national targets.
However, she also noted that all Canadians and their “consumption patterns” must be a part of Canada’s climate-change solutions if the country is to achieve its goals.

I wonder what McKenna is doing to change her "consumption patterns"? What a stuck up elitist bitch
Like it or not, emissions from oil and gas production are important to the public and to other stakeholders. The industry and government have done such a poor job of managing this issue that at this point, they need to be much better than anyone else to even look credible.

So a campaign based on "the feels" is ok with you? It certainly isn't for me, especially when the Liberals campaigned on going forward with decisions based on "science and fact", not blatant pandering to their delusional voters.Originally posted by ExtraSlow

And that's almost 8 years in power.
We will see. Science and facts can also be impacted by interpretation. But so far, everyone is on board with climate change policy except Alberta and Saskatchewan because of financial reason. When a policy that affect 18% of your GDP, it's understandable.
Everyone will be disappointed along the way because I don't see Trudeau can run a tight ship and someone working under him will fucked up royally eventually.
More bad news today. Deficit left by Conservatives much higher than they claimed, and pipeline reviews process based on fraudulent EPA data.

Liberals have even more work and woes ahead of them than we anticipated.

That article says May is claiming the data is fraudulent. Her main complaint seems to be that the word “draft” was removed, not that the data was faked.
Another score for the Liberals while we're at it. Despite campaigning to ban partisan advertising, they plan to spend $630,000 on ads to try and jam their Syria plans into the public's hearts.

See Crank. See Crank Walk. Walk Crank Walk.
It's the same stradegy Obama has used, that Notley used, and Trudeau will also use. Complain that the previous government left a mess budget after budget, to justify more spending and debt to "fix" the problems left. Problem is that when you analyze their budgets, you realize there was never an effort made to try and curb spending or be more fiscally responsible.
There will always be messes left by previous governments. But at some point it becomes a tired excuse, and you don't actually see the government doing anything to fix it.
How is that partisan advertising? Please explain. Its education, as many lies and misconceptions have been propagated, as especially exemplified by posters here.Originally posted by FraserB

So we find out about missing billions from previous management, and you are worried about the price of a Calgary home.
Interesting.

Second, no, the deficit "left" isn't "much higher than they claimed", it has changed due to the difference in forecasted revenue between then and now. Derp.
Things change. Well, except for the Liberals adding $10bil per year in debt, plus the additional $1bil give or take a billion they will spend on refugees.
Missed where I mentioned home prices in my post.Originally posted by 04Terminator

Interesting.
Buying ads to try to get support for your government's plan, that over 50% do not agree with, sounds pretty partisan. The same people who were bitching about the CPC spending money to advertise the EAP should also complain about this.

There are 4 sided to this.
A-people that would help at any cost.
B-people that see through the misconceptions phony concerns, and decided to help.
C-people that fell for the misconceptions and phony concerns, and dont want to help.
D-people that would not help at any cost, and the source of the misconceptions and phony concerns.
Education will inform group C. Nothing wrong with information and education.
Group d is a lost cause.

Also when this outlook turns out to be wrong when they actually total up year end ( which it will be because that's how forecasting works ) I am glad you agree that we can consider it deliberate misinformation on behalf of the liberals right?
