Politicians need to make tough decisions, which they are unwilling to do because of election chances - if they were term limited then perhaps more could have been done.
LENR is also an emerging technology that will come of age in a decade or so.
This, 100% !
I'm sick of hearing about solar panels, batteries, electric cars, etc... Batteries require hardcore mining, the footprint behind manufacturing solar panels is retarded for such little energy generated, and everyone makes it sound like Alberta (or Canada's oil and gas sector) is destroying the planet.
If they were serious about climate change, the focus wouldn't be on fossil fuels, it would be on lighting up REAL proven technology like nuclear... But I guess environmentalists protest those as well. It's the only semi-clean proven tech we have right now. Get the cities running off nuclear first, invest in new tech, incentivize it, and deal with the other stuff later as new technologies come out.
But then again, the whole Canadian "climate change fight" isn't about climate change... It's about votes, uncontrollable spending and new taxes, uneducated people following fads, and foreign entities interfering with our energy industry.
