Just got my 3070, debating if I should use it or sell it for a small profit and wait for the 3080Ti....
Have a R9 280x right now that definitely is not cutting the mustard in CP:2077 & MSFS 2020.

edit: nvm
if you dont mind playing with your current R9 for another 2-3 months then go for it. who knows when you'll be able to get a 3080Ti in your hands.. maybe March-April.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

@The_Rural_Juror was just thinking about this but what Windows apps are you running on your PC that you need a beefy rig. Have you considered maybe just getting a Mac mini or another MBA with M1 chip as your main desktop?
IF Adobe releases a native M1 Lightroom classic version and I can have eGPU and Steam games on Mac, I'm actually considering ditching Windows, even if it means forcing my wife to learn how to use a Mac

I just want something pretty to stare at that can keep up with my learning disability over a few dozen windows. I need more monitors to space them out.
Recommend a 55" monitor/TV for marthing and ms paint?

Get two of these and stack them:

I actually owned the last gen version of this briefly. 1) It takes up a stupid amount of desk space; 2) The curvature works well for games but not for MS Paint. It makes my spray paint lines all swiggly. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I've actually considered using our 55" Samsung Q80R TV as PC monitor, then get a 65" Q80T as TVThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I have a Dell PC connected on the Q80R where we stream/watch as well and it's not bad, you'll also need at least 4-7ft viewing distance lol
So tempted giving this a try too

Might as well get the Mac Mini...which I may do for my non-MS Paint computers. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Was just at the NE Memory Express, they have 10+ Gigabyte Vision 3070's, a couple of Aorus Master 3070, 10+ regular Gigabyte 3070 sitting on the shelves. There's a couple of random Zotac 2080 and 2070 as well.
That is actually my plan. Maybe not those exact monitors because I am not gonna drop $4k, but only having 2 monitors would beat the real estate the 6 I am using is taking up.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

So I've ordered a 5 inch LCD screen and other supporting stuff to do the gauge/monitors where the power supply cage is since I hate the dead space look to it right now. I think it'll keep me busy for a bit when the stuff shows up in a few days.
Hadn't planned on doing anything else, but my brother happened to win an RTX3070 the other night. He doesn't have a computer, and has a PS5 to game on, so it was of no need to him. He offered to me for super cheap. I was not planning on changing graphics cards till at least mid year, but could not turn it down, so into my setup it went.

You guys are probably sick of seeing my shit already, but I was partially inspired (or suckered) into redoing my setup because of this thread, so I figured I'd post the progress pictures here.
My LCD showed up today, earlier than expected, so I mocked up where to put it, and then plugged it in to mess around with it a bit. Guess I've gotta find some gauges that I like, or maybe create my own. Will sit outside the case until I get the angled cables I need, and get it mounted on the PSU cage (another thing to figure out).

Is there plug and play solutions for that?
I want to know how to do that too. Even if I don't have space for it.

That's pretty cool that your brother won a 3070, lucky him.
How are you attaching the screen to the bracket? Also, you can get some ultra slim HDMI cables on Amazon. Would be easier to route that instead of fighting the regular sized ones.

How does that work? So you permanently have an extended display? Doesn't that mean your cursor can randomly roll over there? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The LCD did come with standoffs/posts, and luckily they line up with the holes on the PSU cage. In the pictures I took, I just have them hanging in the holes, but the next issue will be attaching them as there isn't very much room between the inside of the cage and the PSU to lock it down. It did come with some tiny nuts that thread into the standoffs, but I dont think it will hold, so I may have to figure something else out.
Waiting for some thinner HDMI cables from amazon, and a mini USB to USB2.0 header so it can be powered directly from the motherboard instead of me running the cable to an external USB. May even look into a HDMI ribbon cable setup if the thinner HDMI cable doesn't work for me. I actually wanted to do something like this back when I had my ThermalTake Core P3, but didn't know how much of a pain it would be, so I didn't pursue it. But after seeing that JayzTwoCents video a while back, and then seeing sl888 with his gauges, it reignited the want to make it happen.
And yes, it is an extended display. The cursor can randomly roll over to it, but I dont have that big of a problem with it. Currently using a program called rainmeter, and a pluging called SpeedFan, and have checked out a few templates, but will go the Aida64 route if I want to spend a bit more time customizing like in the video. May try out the HWInfo plugin to see if thats any different or not.
Monitor 1 and 3 are mirrored (1 is main, 3 is the small TV set up in front of my sim rig so I can see what I'm setting up before I put the VR headset on), 2 is the LCD monitor inside the case.

^that's hot, can you send link for the screen? interested on putting one inside my case now too
@The_Rural_Juror you need a build like this
Looks like it will tip easily. ATX board? Noice.

I really need to clean my desk up, and free up real estate. I am currently running 5 monitors (3x 24" Acers, and 2x HP 19") off my work laptop, and my laptop screen for 6 total monitors. 3 stacked on top of the smaller 3.
I am contemplating getting 2 ultra wide monitors to replace the setup, stacking them on top of each other. I am thinking of like 42" ultra wides. What are my budget friendly options here? Spending $4k outta my own wallet for my WFH setup seems kinda excessive...
