Had it replaced on my F150 at Cal-Alta and they told me to hold off on the calibration unless it threw codes or errors. Been working great still without calibration. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I have concerns about this - currently hunting down a Nightview/rainsensor windshield for my LX, it has a titanium oxide coating for the HUD and I doubt there's aftermarket glass that will accommodate the feature.
It's also riveted glass, and the P/O had some garbage install performed where they just glued everything and now that shit leaks. I'm thinking OEM only but it's $1100 which sucks!
If you're bored and wanna learn about how unique an LX/100 series windshield is... https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/bye...#post-11243216

The X5 i bought earlier this year really is FULLY LOADED though not a single option missing including infrared night driving
I had HUD in my Z06 but thankfully never had to replace it in the 2.5 years I owned it. The car had the original 2002 glass in it too.
When replacing the windshield, do they put back the remote starter antenna and dash-cam or do they leave it for you to put back yourself?
I went to Glass Master for an aftermarket glass on the M5 with HUD, they put it on but couldnt make fit it properly (so they said?!)... So they kept the car for 2 more days and gave me an OEM glass instead. No extra charges.
I hate that Glassmasters always tries to push the cheap shitty glass, but their customer service for anything that goes wrong is always top notch.
Cal Alta was busy today so I took my truck to Go! Auto Glass in the S.E. they were recommended by my neighbor. So far so good, 2 hours for the install of a new windshield and the price is the same as what Cal Alta quoted me.
Bump!
Looking for some thoughts on covid safe glass installers. This may sound ridiculous but I work with seniors and the less chances I have to take, the better. I just sold one of my cars and unfortunately the first inspection shop left grease all over the steering wheel and shifter, and the second shop left oil stains and pokemon toy packaging in the passenger seat while also telling me they had three technicians drive it in addition to guy talking to me. The less people involved the better, ideally a shop that would let you drive it in and out, so staff don't have to even enter the car. Looking for high quality glass as well. Thanks for any recommendations!
Look for a mobile glass installer, then it never needs to move.

Effing Fish Creek Nissan tacked on a COVID fee when Mrs. Penguin got maintenance done.
Must mean they thoroughly sanitized after. /sarcasm
Didn't think that was a thing! Thanks. I'll look into that. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Anyone have experience with getting a custom windshield cut? Need to eventually start calling around but the one place I did call a few weeks ago was a bit out to lunch price wise.
Figured I'd toss this out seeing the thread pop up.
5 Star auto glass right beside the old "back alley" night club on Mac trail, on about 37th Ave. One one of my farm trucks, this place local to me out here, it was $487 to replace it, 5 Star did it for $203. They have been my go to for all things automotive glass.

Got a guy coming on Friday to my house for $205 for my Audi windshield. Will give a review once it’s done.
Can I ask who? I'd like to get my windshield done too.
^ Same here.
Let’s wait for the review on Friday, want to make sure he’s good.
Got a quote for for my Volvo at Cal-Alta for $900. I'm asking for OEM, they say it is, but is it really glass from Volvo?
