If the hinges are accessible, can you just pop out the hinge pins and remove the whole door? If not, locksmith or take up a new lockpicking hobby.

This is my personal favorite suggestion, asides from my own cattle bolt one. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Spray liquid nitrogen in the lock cylinder and just punch it out?

Did you use an exterior-quality door handle?
hacksaw/sawzall the handle off and you should get enough access to the internal mechanicals to force it to turn with tools - could even use a propane torch to soften the metal but at risk to the door and fumes in the area.
brute force, compared to a locksmith
It was whatever was cheapest for a keyed lever handle. It's not any special quality, although I think at this price point, interior and exterior handles are not different. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Well whatever reason you chose to use keyed for... it's working to keep the things safe.
I think the cost of a new interior, hollow door will be less than the service call to a locksmith and that's disregarding the intangible cost of emasculation.

Give me a few minutes, searching Youtube for some videos Ive watched recently. Opening handled doors are incredibly quick to open versus knobbed handles.

But in other news, when nobody was looking today "someone" put the key into the door lock and hung the spare key on the handle. Fucking kids.
Oh well, guess I don't need a locksmith....

It’s a Christmas miracle!
How did your kids get out of the locked room? You definitely need a locksmith now.
I’d say you need to enact vengeance until one of them snitches.
I’d start with their food.

Now you can install it properly and flip the key side to the interior of the room, so your “art” can’t escape
