For fun I jumped in on the Nastion parks queue around 9am. I am #41,800 now.

Your estimated wait time is: more than an hour
I wonder if the longest wait time their system can specify is more than an hour. Surely they could narrow that down.
No, that's all it shows. I honestly don't need a spot badly today. Tomorrow when Yoho and Kootenay open up I have some interest in a spot, but I may be changing my summer plans anyway. Kind of hate the fact you have to book so far ahead to have any chance. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I got on at exactly 8:00 and had already 17,800 in front of me. been on 2hrs 15 minutes and still have 6200 ahead of me. It sucks, I think the RV rental companies have something to do with this??
There are a few companies that do resell campsites, it's not just the RV rental companies. Tour operators out of Europe (and locally) do as a package too.

BIL was able to book me a site praise jeebus
I actually don't hate the randomized setup, the slow process of most likely only allowing bookings once others timeout or are completed sucks though.
~40,000+ folks in queue for all of Canada doesn't seem too crazy in the grand scheme I suppose
Almost the entire cliff side of Green Point in Tofino is rental RV's filled with Europeans every year. Pretty sure someone gets a nice kickback for ensuring they have first dibs. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I camped there as a kid every year. My brother has been trying to get one of those spots for five years. It's just not possible. Breaks my heart, and I do understand how important tourism is to our economy, but fucking hell, there should be some way a citizen can camp there eventually. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. I don't need access to premium sites every weekend every year, but some kind of system where I get priority evey couple of years, or for certain weekends, or something . . . Not that I trust any level of government to handle that well. Fuck I'm grumpy about camping right now.

To hunt European tourists? I mean, that's not what I meant but I am game. Sounds sporting.

I mean they do it for fishing in northern bc. Non-canadian residents just arent allowed to fish a bunch of the skeena river area on sat-sun, giving Canadians (and moreso, BCers) preference. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
We really should have some level of at least canadian priority, if not resident priority for bookings.
Even just a mix. 50% reserved for international tourists, 50% Canadian.
Somebody should convert this into a camper.

So I was in a call with some lawyers at the time, but the parks canada website informed me my turn arrived at 3:09pm. Yeah, that's a nice 6 hour wait.

Booked two separate trips to Two Jack Main. Of course lakeside was lonnnnng gone. I'm actually going to have to go on a scouting mission because the only spots left were "21' and under", so I may not even fit, depending on the site angles.
Started at 9.30 got in at 4.30
Got 3 spots next to each other at Tunnel mountain for august long. Of course they don’t have firepits or power but we are the only unit with a trailer.
I am very blessed to have famiky with vacation property that I can mooch a couple long weekends and usually one week per year.
