There’s too much one lane roads to make a Canadian coast to coast attempt work. At least between Kamloops and lake Louise. Haven’t driven far enough East past Manitoba to know what the situation there looks like. Then there’s the highway passing through cities non stop. Just makes it dangerous to attempt anything.
There’s so much traffic between us and Vancouver even in the middle of the night that any record in that segment today would purely be based on luck of traffic.

Northern Ontario is very similar to BC... but with lots of fog
If you haven't yet, I'd recommend you track down that podcast I mentioned; I'm sure you'd enjoy it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Luck with traffic, combined with size of testes. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
That whole stretch across superior and Huron(?) Is single lane tons of traffic, curving along the edge of the lake and dodging semis doing 90...
Also really have to time it so gas stations are open... not a lot of options to fill up between kenora and t-bayThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Y'all are nuts. I drove from Calgary to Penticton once in 6 hours and thought I was a madman.
I can eat more hot wings than you.
My midnight run from Vancouver to Calgary in under 6 hours will never be topped again. It’s impossible to not have to slow down for traffic today. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I wonder if it’s faster to drive thru US then back into Canada to actually make such a run work. Still technically coast to coast haha.

Maybe right now it could be beat, with significantly less traffic from COVID. I know my daily highway 2 trips have been fucking dreamy. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Back in 1991 I made it from Quebec City to Keremeos BC (near Penticton) in 3 days driving on my own and sleeping in my car and thought that was fast lol.
Shit I did Calgary to Vancouver in 8 hours back in the 90s on a few occasions... 6 would be ... Lord tunnerin. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I thought Calgary to burnaby in about nine hours was plenty fast enough, and that was in an E350 cargo van. Now I just race stoplight to stoplight in the minivan.

Not with this snow. That time involved doing straights at nearly 300kmh haha. Can’t even think of doing that without summer tires. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

In what car? That gnarly M3 you had? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
This was in the 944 in 1995. I probably would’ve been faster on the way down if I didn’t get pulled over. Clocked at 250, guns drawn on me once stopped. Cop thought I was running drugs. Cop gave me a break for that knocking ticket to 200 haha. Still $600 ticket back then. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Funny enough the M3 was top speed limited at 250. You don’t need silly power to make these runs, just enough to get to top speed without eating gas like crazy. Drove the 944 with the lights flipped down and driving on foglights to get that extra 20kmh top speed.

Right. But you still need decent power to get to 300kmh haha. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Almost 300... topped out at 285 with the lights off. At the time the car just had chips and exhaust for 300hp. Doesn’t need that much power. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Thinking back that drive was fucking sketch. To be fearless in my late teens. On the bright side at that kind of speeds, you’re not spending any time in the opposing lanes on a pass haha.

Kinda related, I watch a lot of Vinwiki and I’m really into the cannonball stories and stuff, my fiancé got me this after we got engaged. Signed by a lot of the record holders, number 49/100. Really happy I got one, I was never going to buy it for myself because I’m a cheap cunt.
