Buddy of mine just bought one, works good. Hell a chain is $35, so a full say for $110 is incredible. Cutting your own firewood is fun and manly.

kinda what i thought too, i've easily spent $200 on firewood this year already
I ended up trying it out but it wasn't quite what i was expecting. I was hoping it would continually monitor and send you alerts of any deltas since the last alert until you turned it off. Instead it's a one-time thing, once it finds one, it sends you the alert then that's it.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
In my case i was looking for a spot at Bow Valley either E or F loops... unfortunately it triggered for a B loop site which i didn't want. So ended up wasting $5. oh well
I did email the guy who runs this to give him some suggestions for both continual monitoring and also specific site/loop selection so hopefully he can add those (I also mentioned i'd be willing to pay a bit more for those features).
Either way it's a good service if you aren't picky for sites and have internet access when the alert comes.
I got my truck WAAAAY overloaded with free spruce a couple of years ago, but it was so knotty that I couldn't split by hand and had to rent a splitter. Probably would have been cheaper to buy wood. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The dead fall I got from powderface area was beautiful to split. No hassle at all.

First impressions of Ol’macdonalds resort. Super super crowded, definetly not an aspen crowd.
Also people dgaf if you are driving down the lane way with your camper. I was trying to back into my site and I had people weaving their bikes around me and shit. Super noisy too all generators and people on miniature motorbikes tearing it up.
Also at Ol'macdonalds right now. Same impression, lol. I think 90% of traffic has been driving the wrong way. Not as noisy where we are though, as we are pretty much the furthest from the beach as you can get. If you want to borrow my tongue weight scale I posted earlier, let me know. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Sweet thanks yeah we went to the beach at rochon sandsThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I hope it's less busy than the beach here. Pretty sure I've got covid now. This campground is definitely not ideal for my camping enjoyment. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Can’t upload a pic of the beach on pm so will drop here
That is far better. I think we'll go there tomorrow.
On an unrelated note. I'm am super impressed with this new little genny. I just tested it for the first time, and it can actually handle my air conditioner. After the initial load shock of the compressor kicking in, it settles at 50% load.
It's only rated for 1850 watts on propane, so if I install one of those slow start compressor thingys that extraslow mentioned awhile back, I'll be pretty happy.

If you can figure out the difference between a relatively cheap "soft start capacitor" vs the crazy expensive "microair easy start" then maybe you can save money. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I bring bad news to those at Gull Lake and Buffalo Lake https://edmonton.ctvnews.ca/water-qu...akes-1.5047734
Didn't even get the wake boat into the water this weekend. At least the cabin is air conditioned.
EDMONTON -- Alberta Health Services is asking people not to swim in Gull Lake at Aspen Beach and Buffalo Lake at Rochan Sands due to elevated levels of fecal bacteria.
AHS detected the elevated levels of fecal bacteria after testing the waters. Coming into contact with the water could result in gastrointestinal illness as well as skin, ear and eye infections, AHS said.
People who do come into contact with the water at the two lakes are asked to avoid contact with the face and wash their hands after coming out.
Signs have been placed at common beach access points.
AHS will continue to monitor the water at the two lakes and the advisory will remain in place until further notice.
Going glamping next week, have an urge to start spending more time outdoors, is this what happens when you approach 40? Like the premidlife crisis?
