    Default Wrong tire rotation

Jusr replaced my girls flat with a full sized spare but the damn tire was wrapped for the other side. Thus, the rotation is the opposite of what its supposed to be. She's only gonna be on it for another month or so and then the winters will be going on. Any real issues with driving her IS300 like this for a short while?

Noise, treadwear and smoothness are all affected negatively.

Watch out when in rains. It's meant to only shed water when rotating in one direction. The likelyhood of hydroplanning increases when going the other way.

everything that is made to perform will operate on the other side of the spectrum. tread wont last very long and tread pattern is rendered useless for certain road conditions

I've tried driving with reversed treads like you mentioned. It doesn't feel very nice. The car acts unpredictably at highway speeds.

Gives you motivation to fix the flat.

Can't you just swap it with a wheel on the other side of the car?

If you're going to be riding on it for a while, why not go to a tire shop and have them re-mount it to rotate the proper way, it will only cost about $20! But then again, why put off repairing or replacing the flat? It's going to have to be done anyway! If you're driving an IS300, you should probably be able to spring for a tire!

I drove like that for a week or so and when I rotated the right way it was no different.
Not saying it is good...just saying I never noticed one way or the other.
Maybe in heavy wet it could be an issue!

Spend the cash and get it fixed. Either flip the tire on the rim, or buy a new tire to replace the flat. You are going to have to either sooner or later. Why risk more damage for a few dollars?

This would work if his main tires were non-directional. If they're directional like the spare, he'll end up with the spare pointing the right way and the main flipped.

right good call. i failed to realize that his stockers may be directional.. if they are then it would be all good though.
