Default BS stunting ticket - how to fight

OK,.. so last night a bunch of us were out for coffee @ the SE tim hortons (we go to watch ppl come and go,.. sometimes take bets on how long they'll be gone for )

anyways,.. we were all parked in the 'overflow' parking lot,.. and one of us decided to leave,.. just as he exited the parking lot,.. the cops were there,.. pull him over and give him a ticket.

he didn't do anything wrong,.. were were all there watching him leave.

he didn't burnout like a lot of other people there do, nor did he speed,.. he just left the parking lot

As soon as he exited the parking lot,.. the cops pull him over and give him a stunting ticket,.. total BS

I'm asking for advice for my buddy

what's the best way to fght this ticket

I have a google satellite photo and I marked where everyone was

I tihnk your best shot is to go to court and call upon all your friends as witnesses. It'll be the cops word vs. your 4-5 witnesses word.

There really was no reason to give this ticket. I too was there and saw what happened. He didn't do anything wrong. You can't give a spectator ticket for sitting and chatting with friends drinking timmy's coffee. The cop had no proof he was a spectator to earlier races or any of us for that matter.
Our friend had only been at timmy's for about 20 mins. He didn't peel out, he doesn't have neons on his car, he didn't pull out of the lot with excess speed and he didn't rev his engine... And for the cop to just say i'm giving you a stunting ticket with no just cause then I don't see why our friend wouldn't win this. I think it's so retarded and I really don't get it.

    Yeah thats kinda weird
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.”

If your friend's car was souped up in any way, shape or form, that is most likely what prompted the ticket. (Not that I'm saying it's justified) Although I as well would be most curious to know what the cop said when the ticket was issued. You probably know that the timmy's on 52nd is a popular spot for street racers, and they watch it like a hawk. If your friend honestly did nothing (which I believe you when you say he did), then fight it. I am not sure on the procedure if you wish to have witnesses involved when you are fighting the ticket, but I'm sure the people at Rocky Mountain Plaza know best. So, for now, go down there, get a court date set, and ask about the procedure for calling witnesses. Honestly, there is about a 75% chance the cop won't show. Yes they get paid to show up, usually overtime (from what I've heard), but it's really a PITA for them to show up, and if they weren't terribly strongly motivated to issue the ticket, odds are they won't follow up on it.
